Awards for 4/5/2025

APEX Ace Award: Connor Usowski, Port Byron baseball. In the Panthers’ 8-1 victory over Cato-Meridian on April 1 Usowski pitched six innings with 15 strikeouts, only allowed one hit and at the plate hit a home run finishing with three RBIs.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Brody Boris, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill boys lacrosse. Stopping 18 of the 24 shots he faced, Boris was instrumental in the Red Devils edging past Syracuse City 7-6 on April 1.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Ruby Butler, Bishop Grimes softball. When the Cobras began its final season with a 16-5 victory over Tully on April 4 Butler led the attack with a pair of doubles which led to five RBIs while scoring three runs.

Hello Garage Game Changer: Allison Mainville, Fulton girls lacrosse. The Red Dragons ripped past Homer 22-4 on April 3 with Mainville emerging as an offensive threat thanks to her five goals.

The Image Press Icon: Finnly Pas’cal, Skaneateles softball. Pascal homered, doubled, singled twice and got four RBIs to help the Lakers pick up 23 hits overall and roll past Mexico 22-5 on April 4.

JKS Roofing High Achiever: Trent Gardner, Carthage boys lacrosse. In a low-scoring April 3 season opener the Comets edged New Hartford 7-6 with Gardner carrying the attack thanks to his four goals and one assist.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Tyler Hawthorne, Baldwinsville baseball, hitting a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh inning to bring home the tying run in the Bees’ eventual 3-2 win over Jamesville-DeWitt on April 4.

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Sarah Payne, Morrisville-Eaton tennis. Payne’s come-from-behind, three-set victory over Ryan Vail in second singles keyed M-E’s 3-2 victory over Poland in the April 4 season opener for both teams.

M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Alayna Wood, Syracuse City girls lacrosse.  With a stunning performance of seven goals and four assists, Wood pushed Syracuse past Cortland 12-4 when those teams met on April 4.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Avilene Terry, Fayetteville-Manlius softball. The Hornets would claim its season opener 8-3 over Chittenango on April 3 with Terry landing a single and double while also earning three RBIs.

North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Kage Loftus, Watertown boys lacrosse. Loftus scored four times and tacked on four assists, all helping the Cyclones pull away and beat East Syracuse Minoa 14-5 on April 1.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Brooke Sutton, Mexico girls lacrosse. When the Tigers got its first win of the season 9-4 over Marcus Whitman on April 4, Sutton picked up four goals and added two assists.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Larissa Holdridge, Canastota softball, hitting a home run as part of a three-hit, six-RBI performance for the Raiders against Waterville on April 6 which helped produce a 20-6 victory.

110 Grill Award of Excellence: Max Overend, Solvay baseball. During the Bearcats’ 8-2 win over Skaneateles on April 4 Overend pitched 6 2/3 innings and struck out nine while also getting a home run, double and two RBIs with his bat.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Hayden Bubble, Cazenovia girls lacrosse. With her three-goal hat trick plus an assist, Bubble helped the Lakers handle Whitesboro 9-6 on April 5.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer:  Zach Buchanan, Indian River boys lacrosse. Netting four of his team’s goals, Buchanan matched the opposition by himself and helped the Wolves defeat Oswego 8-4 on April 4.

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Jasmin Zahman, Manlius Pebble Hill boys tennis. Zahman’s shutout of Cooper Graham in first singles sparked the Trojans to a 5-0 win over Phoenix on April 3.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Dan Stiles, Homer boys lacrosse. When the Trojans rolled past Fulton 14-5 on April 2 Stiles picked up four goals and also earned four assists.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Liverpool flag football rallying in the second half from a 14-0 deficit to defending sectional champion Baldwinsville with two touchdowns on April 1 to help produce a 14-14 tie with the Bees.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Addison Cook, Whitesboro softball. Between her home run, triple, double and six RBIs Cook had a lot to do with Whitesboro handling East Syracuse Minoa 26-2 on April 3.
