APEX Amazing Athlete: Hannah Roggie, Beaver River girls track and field. With a discus throw of 113 feet 11 inches and a shot put toss of 39 feet 1 inches Roggie won both events during the May 8 John Arcaro Classic at Baldwinsville.
Atlas Fence All-Star: Cerrah Colton, East Syracuse Minoa boys track and field. During the Spartans’ own invitational meet on May 4 Colton not only prevailed in the 400-meter hurdles, he also ran a leg on ESM’s winning 4×400 relay team.
B&B Lumber Big Mover: Larissa Holdridge, Canastota softball. Between her triple and two singles, Holdridge produced five RBIs for Canastota during the course of a 14-2 victory over Westmoreland on May 4.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Sullivan Waldron, Tully baseball. Waldron pitched a no-hitter in the Black Knights’ 2-0 shutout of LaFayette on May 8, handling most of the work by himself by recording a career-best 17 strikeouts and didn’t walk anyone.
Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Tricia Price, General Brown girls lacrosse. Pouring in seven goals and adding an assist, Price sparked the Lions to a 19-8 victory over Watertown IHC on May 8.
Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Kissara Smith, Watertown flag football. Running and passing for a combined 225 yards and responsible for three touchdowns, Smith led the Cyclones to a 28-0 shutout of Sherburne-Earlville on May 26.
F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Jack Marshall, Vernon-Verona-Sherrrill boys golf. Going under par with a 32 for nine holes Marshall helped lead the Red Devils past Utica Proctor 196-276 on May 5.
The Image Press Icon: Alex Seward, Weedsport baseball. As the Wolverine stayed undefeated with a 9-3 victory over Pulaski on May 8, Seward pitched five innings of one-hit ball with 11 strikeouts while also getting a single, walk and three runs scored at the plate.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Anna Eells, Cicero-North Syracuse girls track and field, sweeping to victories in both the triple jump and high jump by big margins against elite competition during the May 9 Glenn D. Loucks Games in White Plains.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Bristol Deluca, Lyme softball. Deluca was the driving force behind Lyme smashing Watertown 20-2 crushing a home run, adding two singles and a walk and piling up seven RBIs along the way.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Dycen Nanticoke, LaFayette/Onondaga boys lacrosse. Earning six goals and adding an assist, Nanticoke helped power the Lancers to a 21-13 victory over Skaneateles on May 8.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Landon Derbyshire, West Genesee boys track and field. During the May 8 John Arcaro Classic at Baldwinsville Derbyshire won the discus with a throw of 139 feet 9 inches and added a second-place effort in the shot put with 53’6″.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Dax Coe, Poland boys tennis. With a 6-4, 6-2 win over Michael Riegler, Coe sparked a singles sweep pushing the Tornadoes past Holland Patent 3-2 in the May 8 opening round of the Section III Class D opening round.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Alanna Bowman, West Genesee softball. During a 5-0 week Bowman crushed four home runs, two of them in a 22-17 win over Skaneateles on May 8 and hours later another to help the Wildcats beat Liverpool 8-4.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Hugh Carroll, Skaneateles baseball, hitting a two-run walk-0ff home run in the bottom of the ninth inning which helped the Lakers completed a two-game sweep of Solvay 5-3 on May 9.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Estelle Previte, Rome Free Academy girls lacrosse. Between her four goals and three assists, Previte anchored the Black Knights’ offense in the course of a 16-9 victory over Clinton on May 6.
Potter and Perone Special Performance: Griffin Barney, Marcellus boys lacrosse. Barney earned most of his five goals and two assists in the first half helping the Mustangs roll past Cazenovia 24-8 on May 8.
Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Charles Wilcox, Cazenovia boys track and field. Wilcox was the only athlete to clear 12 feet in the pole vault to prevail in that event during the May 4 East Syracuse Minoa Invitational.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Amoni Gary, PSLA-Fowler girls track and field. Gary had a winning high jump clearance of 5 feet 2 inches and was second in the 100-meter hurdles during the John Arcaro Classic May 8 at Baldwinsville.
Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Johnny Vitullo, New Hartford baseball. When the Spartans won a wild 14-11 decision over Utica Proctor on May 5 Vitullo was in the middle of it getting a double and two singles while recording five RBIs.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Maya Michaud, Liverpool girls lacrosse. Dishing out two assists to go with her pair of goals, Michaud led the Legends to a 19-9 victory over Fulton on May 9.
Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: August Haggerty, Syracuse City softball. Haggerty’s pair of triples led to four RBIs as Syracuse earned just its second win of the season on May 9 outscoring Bishop Ludden-Grimes 16-13.
Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Marcus Ludwig, Central Square boys lacrosse. The Redhawks ran away from Oswego 15-6 on May 5 with Ludwig driving the attack thanks to his four goals and four assists.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Christina McClure, Canastota girls golf, earning a hole-in-one at Kanon Valley Country Club’s 8th hole during a May 7 match against Holland Patent, all this in her first season playing high school varsity golf.
U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Reese Ferstler, Chittenango girls lacrosse. Setting a new career mark with nine asists, Ferstler kept the Bears in top late-season form as it defeated Jordan-Elbridge 20-12 on May 8.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Liam Harty, Christian Brothers Academy boys lacrosse. Harty delivered four goals which helped power the Brothers to a 9-4 victory over Cortland on May 7.
Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Eloise Freeth, Hamilton softball. Freeth threw a perfect game – 21 up, 21 down – with 17 strikeouts while also getting two triples and six RBIs at the plate when the Emerald Knights beat Cooperstown 13-0 on May 4.
