Awards for 5/16/2026

APEX Amazing Athlete:  Trevor Young, Westhill boys lacrosse. Notching five goals and three assists, Young led the Wolf Pack to a 20-7 victory over Cortland in its May 12 regular-season finale.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Parker Maneri, Auburn girls lacrosse. Maneri was unstoppable when the Maroons beat Fulton 13-3 on May 14 finishing the game with eight goals and two assists.

B&B Lumber Big Mover: Baylee Williams, Sandy Creek softball. With a home run, triple and three RBIs Williams helped the Comets roll past General Brown 13-3 in a Frontier League showdown on May 16.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Max Nichiporuk, Cazenovia baseball. The Lakers blanked Marcellus 10-0 on May 15 when Nichiporuk throwing a five-inning no-hitter while also driving in a pair of runs at the plate.

Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Anna Congelli, Tully girls track and field. Congelli swept to victories in the 400, 800 and 1,500-meter running events during the May 13 Onondaga High School League Patriot division championships at Port Byron.

Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Macon Kingsley, South Jefferson boys track and field. Kingsley swept to wins in the discus with 144 feet 6 inches and shot put with 52 feet 7 1/2 inches during the May 13 Frontier League championships.

F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Julia Covey, Watertown girls lacrosse. The Cyclones dominated General Brown 22-5 on May 15 with a heavy dose of production from Covey who earned six goals and two assists.

The Image Press Icon: Luke Lockwood, West Genesee boys lacrosse. Lockwood put up four goals and two assists, consistently producing as the Wildcats gave Cicero-North Syracuse its first defeat of the season 13-12 on May 12.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Eric Hu, Manlius Pebble Hill boys tennis, defeating Sknaeateles’ Will Salzhauer 6-2 in the third set for the clinching point as the Trojans edged the Lakers 3-2 on May 15 to win the Section III Class D championship.

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Marcianna Perez, Oneida flag football. Perez picked up 11 tackles to anchor an Express defense which kept Jamesville-DeWitt off the board in a 27-0 shutout on May 12.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Caleb Robert, Mexico baseball. Robert scored five of his team’s runs in a doubleheader on May 15 where the Tigers routed rival Phoenix 12-3 and then pulled out a 3-2 victory over Bishop Ludden-Grimes.

M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Claire Olivia, Bishop Ludden-Grimes girls lacrosse. The Gaelic Knights earned just its second win of the season when it edged Cortland 10-8 on May 13 led mostly by Olivia earning three goals and three assists.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Matt Plyter, Pulaski boys track and field. Plyter cleared 6 feet in the high jump and went 42 feet 2 1/2 inches in the triple jump winning both events in the May 13 Onondaga High School League Patriot division championships.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Anthony Polhamus, Syracuse City boys lacrosse. Polhamus notched five goals and added three assists as part of Syracuse’s 20-6 victory over Holland Patent on May 16.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Kadence Williams, Central Square girls track and field, going two minutes 13.02 seconds to beat the field by more than 11 seconds during the May 16 Liverpool Invitational.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Annabelle Stewart, Solvay softball. Stewart was four-for-six with four RBIs propelling the Bearcats past Skaneateles 22-10 on May 14 part of a week where in four games Stewart drove in 10 runs.

Potter and Perone Special Performance: Natalia Viola, New Hartford girls lacrosse. The Spartans handled Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 21-7 on May 12 with Viola the anchor of the attack with a career-best eight assists to go with a three-goal hat trick.

Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Aidan Halladay, Fulton boys lacrosse. Halladay augmented his three goals with three assists, all of which helped to push the Red Dragons past Central Square 12-10 on May 12.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Andrew Arcuri, Christian Brothers Academy boys tennis. Arcuri got a pair of straight-set singles victories leading the Brothers to 3-2 wins over Fayetteville-Manlius and Liverpool on the way to the Section III Class A team championship.

Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Anna Johannssen, Central Valley Academy softball. Johannssen struck out 11 in her five no-hit innings while going four-for-four at the plate with four runs scored as the Thunder routed Central Valley Academy 20-0 on May 14.

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Bence Rowland, Rome Free Academy baseball. Rowland’s home run and three RBIs was crucial for the Black Knights when it defeated Utica Notre Dame 7-6 on May 13.

Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Lacey Phaneuf, Jamesville-DeWitt girls lacrosse. In back-to-back victories over Baldwinsville and East Syracuse Minoa on May 12 and 14, Phaneuf recorded three goals to run her season total to 27.

Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Brayden Smith, Liverpool boys track and field. Smith won the 400-meter hurdles in 55.70 seconds and helped the Legends to two top-five finishes in relays during Liverpool’s own invitational meet on May 16.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Hunter Johnson, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown baseball, throwing a perfect game on May 12 against Tully retiring all 21 batters he faced, 15 of them strikeouts, in the course of a 1-0 victory.

U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Caleb Nortz, Lowville boys lacrosse. Lowville’s 10-5 victory over Carthage on May 15 was largely based on Nortz stopping 13 of the Comets’ 18 direct shots on net.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Leah Bray, Herkimer softball. Bray hit a home run and drove in three runs as the Magicians defeated Canastota 5-2 on May 11.

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Kelsey Brunelle, Jordan-Elbridge girls lacrosse. With her six goals and three assists Brunelle helped the Eagles beat Mexico 16-7 on May 15 and went past the 100-point mark for the season.
