Awards for 4/18/2026

APEX Amazing Athlete: Lainey Lowe, Skaneateles softball. Lowe smashed a pair of home runs and finished with eight RBIs leading the Lakers to victories over Cortland and Mexico where it scored a combined 51 runs.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Eddie Hayden, Watertown baseball. The Cyclones shut out Carthage 10-0 on April 17 as Hayden threw a five-inning no-hitter where he amassed 12 strikeouts and only allowed a single walk.

B&B Lumber Big Mover: Natalia Viola, New Hartford girls lacrosse. Finishing with five goals, Viola helped the Spartans improve to 5-1 on the season defeating Southern Hills 14-11 on April 17.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Koda Hubbard, Cortland boys lacrosse. The Purple Tigers got the upper hand in its rivalry with Homer prevailing 11-8 on April 15 led by Hubbard earning five goals and one assist.

Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Amie Valentine, Utica Proctor girls track and field. With times of 59.58 seconds in the 400-meter dash and 26.45 in the 200-meter dash Valentine won both events for the Raiders in the April 15 Tri-Valley League Coed Relays.

Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Lindsey Chong, Fayetteville-Manlius girls golf. Chong shot a 29 for nine holes at West Hill Golf Course to lead the Hornets as it claimed an early-season showdown with West Genesee April 15 defeating the Wildcats 126-141.

F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Dean Koenig, Oriskany baseball. The reigning state Class D champion Skyhawks claimed a 1-0 classic over Cooperstown on April 13 carried by the pitching of Koenig who amassed 13 strikeouts and limited the Hawkeyes to one hit.

The Image Press Icon: Luke Lockwood, West Genesee boys lacrosse. Continuing the family legacy, Lockwood notched five goals and an assist to help the Wildcats hand Christian Brothers Academy its first defeat of the season 18-6 on April 18 at Alibrandi Stadium.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Zoey Becker, Central Square flag football, throwing a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Ailey McLowry which, along with an extra point, helped the Redhawks knock off Cicero-North Syracuse 7-6 on April 18.

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Bridget Stromer-Galley, Cazenovia girls lacrosse. Stromer-Galley notched a remarkable 16 assists in consecutive wins for the Lakers against Homer and Jordan-Elbridge – six against the Trojans, 10 against the Eagles.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Trig Ludwig, Central Valley Academy boys golf. Ludwig shot a nine-hole score of 35 at Doty’s Golf Course which helped the Thunder kick off a week of three consecutive victories on April 12 defeating Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 186-225.

M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort:  Mertens Anden, Oneida boys tennis. Anden’s straight-set romp over Gideon Keawpinna set the tone for the Express in its April 16 match against Holland Patent where it won 4-1 over the Golden Knights.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Mike Santillo, East Syracuse Minoa boys lacrosse. Every bit of Santillo’s seven goals and three assists was needed as the Spartans survived a wild battle with Auburn to prevail 24-23 on April 17 at Holland Stadium.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Ryann Murphy, Christian Brothers Academy girls lacrosse. During the Brothers’ 13-12 overtime victory over Skaneateles, Murphy accounted for much of herr team’s production earning five goals and two assists.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Brady Mooney, Belleville-Henderson baseball, throwing a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts and just one walk allowed which helped the Knights defeat LaFargeville 10-0 on April 14.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Bella Goodhines, Frankfort-Schuyler softball. Goodhines was flawless in the Maroons Knights’ 15-0 shutout of Dolgeville on April 13 throwing a perfect game where 13 of the 15 outs she recorded were strikeouts.

Potter and Perone Special Performance: Ca’Meyle Martin, Syracuse East flag football. Martin, just called up from the JV ranks, made an immediate impact with a 49-yard touchdown catch late in Syracuse East’s 43-7 romp over Fayetteville-Manlius on April 17.

Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Tanner Bellomo, Mexico boys track and field. When the Tigers defeated Homer 93-48 on April 15 Belllomo earned a victory in the 110 high hurdles in exactly 16 seconds and then added a 200-meter dash title in 1:04.1.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Sophia Lasher, Westhill girls lacrosse. Lasher’s five goals and two assists paced a strong Wolf Pack attack that humbled Section IV’s Ithaca during a 15-5 victory on April 14.

Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Noah Samphier, Cicero-North Syracuse boys lacrosse. Samphier made 10 saves and helped the undefeated Northstars overcome an early five-goal deficit to defeat Baldwinsville 14-11 on April 14.

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Skyler Green, Adirondack baseball. Green went five-for-five at the plate with a triple, double and three singles and scored five runs helping the Wildcats romp to a 22-8 victory over Carthage on April 18.

Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: BellaBee Smith, Fabius-Pompey softball. Smith’s home run, single and four RBIs set the pace for the Falcons during a 15-0 shutout of Tully on April 14.

Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Mia Schiralli, Chittenango girls track and field. When the Bears defeated Syracuse ITC and Syracuse STEAM on April 15 Schrialli won five individual events taking the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump, high jump and triple jump.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Ethan Stovall, Rome Free Academy boys track and field, edging New Hartford’s Dennis Uriola by one-hundredth of a second, 11.80, to 11.81, to win the 100-meter dash in the April 15 Tri-Valley League Coed Relays.

U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Ashton Smith, Oswego boys tennis. Smith’s singles victory over Mason Fogel was the decisive point the Buccaneers needed to edge East Syracuse Minoa 4-3 on April 14.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Brandon Thomas, Weedsport pitcher. On the way to the Wolverines’ 4-0 start Thomas struck out 14 batters in six innings to keep the momentum going during an 8-2 victory over Port Byron on April 15.

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Larissa Holdridge, Canastota softball. With a .611 average this season, Holdridge helped Canastota sweep five games in a six-day span from April 13 to 18 hitting a pair of home runs and amassing 19 RBIs.
