Awards for 4/11/2026

APEX Amazing Athlete: Jianni Berguer, Corcoran boys track and field. Berguer won the shot put and finished second in the discus to dominate throwing events in the April 11 Westhill Invitational.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Rowan Hamilton, Baldwinsville softball. The Bees outscored New Hartford 14-7 on April 10 with a big contribution from Hamilton, who homered, doubled and finished with four RBIs.

B&B Lumber Big Mover: Zach Muir, Cortland baseball. Without a single walk Muir piled up 16 strikeouts while allowing just four hits in the Lakers’ 3-0 victory over Cazenovia on April 11.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Max Reger, Cazenovia boys tennis. Reger’s straight-set victory over Will Salzhauer was the difference-maker for Cazenovia when it defeated Laker rival Skaneateles in a 3-2 decision on April 9.

Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Maggie Cuff, Auburn girls lacrosse. Piling up five goals and adding an assist, Cuff powered the Maroons to a 21-9 victory over Syracuse City on April 9.

Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Vanessa Trumble, Pulaski girls track and field. Trumble cleared 5 feet 6 inches in the high jump, half a foot better than the field, to win that event in the Westhill Invitational on April 11.

F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Hunter Johnson, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown baseball. Throwing a one-hit shutout, Johnson piled up 17 strikeouts in just six innings to dominate Port Byron hitters as the Rebels prevailed 11-0 on April 9.

The Image Press Icon: Kameryn Meaney, Southern Hills girls lacrosse. Meaney led her side with four goals as the Storm dominated against Cortland on April 10 winning a 14-1 decision.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Laina Chilcote, Jamesville-DeWitt softball, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning on Savannah Schnorr’s bunt single helping the Red Rams edge Oswego 5-4 on April 9.

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Legacy Huggins, Syracuse East flag football. When Syracuse East routed Baldwinsville 38-6 on April 9 Huggins paced her team’s ground attack with 10 carries for 114 yards, an average of 11.4 yards per carry.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Gabriel Overend, Weedsport baseball. Overend pitched 5 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts, adding two hits and three runs scored when the Wolf Pack topped Hannibal 9-8 in eight innings on April 9.

M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Remington Stull, McGraw softball. Relieving in one game and starting the other, Stull got credit for both wins in the Strike Out Cancer Tournament for the Eagles as it defeated Morrisvlle-Eaton 6-4 and Cazenovia 2-1.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Addison Keyes, Fayetteville-Manlius girls lacrosse. Keyes would key the Hornets’ 20-6 victory over Marcellus on April 10 by pouring in five goals, by far her best total so far this season.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Brycin Jones, LaFayette/Onondaga boys lacrosse. With his five goals and three assists Jones would help the Lancers roll past Kentucky’s Henry Clay School 16-5 on April 9 for its first victory of the season.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Julianna Pease, East Syracuse Minoa flag football, intercepting a pass in the final minute to help seal the Spartans’ first win in program history on April 8 when it edged Central Square 7-6.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Colton Larsen, Sauquoit Valley baseball. Larsen needed to be great in the Hawks’ 1-0 shutout of Dolgeville on April 10 going to the mound and then holding the Blue Devils to five hits and three walks while recording 10 strikeouts.

Potter and Perone Special Performance: Bailey Hager, Phoenix softball. Hager went five-for-five at the plate with three doubles and five RBIs all of which helped the Firebirds put away Tully by a score of 17-5 on April 6.

Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Lydia Tremont, South Jefferson girls lacrosse. The Spartans stayed unbeaten with a 15-9 victory over Allen County as Tremont emerged as an offensive force getting two goals and three assists.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Joe LaFluer, Jordan-Elbridge boys lacrosse. LaFluer amassed seven goals and added an assist boosting the Eagles as it went on to beat Section V’s Newark 18-6 on April 9. 

Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Madelynn Griesmyer, Central Square softball. The Redhawks’ 24-0 romp over Pulaski on April 11 featured Griesmyer at the plate as she belted a home run, added a double and went five-for-five at the plate with four runs scored and four RBIs. 

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Colton McDonald, Skaneateles baseball. With a pair of RBIs along with three hits McDonald keyed the Lakers topping Westhill 10-8 on April 11 and breaking a 10-game skid against the Wolf Pack dating back to 2019.

Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Geovanni Frattasio, New Hartford boys lacrosse. The Spartans battled past Skaenateles 12-8 on April 9 with Frattasio at the forefront thanks to his four goals and two assists. 

Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Riley Trude, Fulton softball. Trude dominated at the plate in the Red Dragons’ 12-1 victory over Jordan-Elbridge on April 11, belting a home run, double and single while piling up five RBIs and scoring three runs.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Colin Wallace, Oswego boys track and field, going four minutes 26.90 seconds at 1,600 meters to beat the field by nearly 10 seconds during the April 11 Westhill Invitational. 

U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Nolan Wood, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill boys tennis. Wood’s 6-3, 6-4 win over Zach Giarusso in singles was a difference-maker for the Red Devils as it defeated Camden by a scored of 3-2 on April 8.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Lana Alampi, Liverpool girls lacrosse. The Legends broke out in a 22-5 victory over Central Square on April 11 with Alampi getting to double digits in points with her three goals and seven assists. 

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Carter Warren, Fabius-Pompey baseball. Warren pitched like an ace with one hit allowed and 11 strikeouts, all of it needed to help the Falcons earn a 2-0 shutout of Tully on April 10.
