Atlas Fence All-Star: Will Ditre, Fayetteville-Manlius boys indoor track and field. Ditre beat the field in both the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs during the January 11 afternoon session of the John Arcaro Memorial at SRC Arena.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Melanie Wiley, Thousand Islands girls basketball. Wiley earned 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals to help the Vikings defeat Belleville-Henderson 51-29 on January 9.
The Image Press Icon: Tyler Quarry, East Syracuse Minoa boys basketball. The Spartans handed Fulton its first defeat of the season in a 50-48 battle on January 8 as Quarry finished with 23 points, nearly half his team’s output.
JKS Roofing High Achiever: Nora Tighe, Pulaski girls indoor track and field. Tighe swept to wins in the shot put (36 feet 9 inches) and weight throw (40 feet 1 1/2 inches) during the morning session of the January 11 John Arcaro Memorial at SRC Arena.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Sanai Lee, Henninger girls basketball, earning her 1,000th career point during the City Basketball Showcase on January 11 and finishing with 16 points to help the Black Knights beat Nottingham 59-52.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Eliana Occhino, Christian Brothers Academy girls bowling. Occhino shot a 739 series with a high game of 265 which helped the Brothers defeat Bishop Grimes 7-0 on January 9 and stay undefeated.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Landon Bregou, Faith Heritage boys basketball. Bregou had 15 points and 26 rebounds plus the game-winning free throw with no time left to help the Saints defeat Onondaga 53-52 on January 6.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Carter Jarvis, Clinton boys ice hockey. Jarvis stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced and helped carry the Comets to a 2-1 victory over Oswego on January 9 at Crisafulli Rink.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Jaxon Perkins, Central Square wrestling. Perkins earned the 131-pound championship and also helped the Redhawks earn the team title during the January 11 Phoenix Mid-Winter Classic.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Ryan Rauber, Tully boys indoor track and field, breaking the meet record in the 300-meter dash with a time of 34.90 seconds to win that event in the January 11 Jack Reed High School Showcase in Rochester.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Brynn Shepardson, Little Falls girls wrestling. Shepardson beat a big field for the 185-pound championship during the January 11 Southern Tier Memorial Girls Tournament.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: J.P. Lazzaro and Ray Cyr, New Hartford boys bowling. In separate matches last week Lazzaro (against Utica Proctor) and Cyr (against Rome Free Academy) each rolled perfect 300 games.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Jacob Bruno, Rome Free Academy ice hockey. The Black Knights stayed undefeated by handling Mohawk Valley 7-1 on January 5 as Bruno picked up a trio of assists to go with a single goal.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Badr Aly, Syracuse City boys swimming. Aly was the only double winner during the January 10 Griffin Sprint Meet at Nottingham High School taking first in both the 50 and 100-yard breaststroke.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Little Falls girls basketball defeating West Canada Valley 49-46 on January 11 to give head coach Pam Munger her 500th career victory, the 15th girls basketball coach in New York State to reach that milestone.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Liam Sheard, Bishop Ludden boys basketball. The Gaelic Knights stayed unbeaten topping Bishop Grimes 75-66 on January 10 led by Sheard earning 19 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks.
