Empower Federal Credit Union Rewarding Effort: Elizabeth Hanba, Rome Free Academy girls volleyball. Hanba had 11 kills and seven digs in the Black Knights’ four-set win over East Syracuse Minoa in the February 10 Section III Class A quarterfinal.
Ethan Allen Award of Excellence: Delaney Wiley, Thousand Islands girls basketball. Wiley’s 29 points carried the Vikings to a 46-33 victory over Beaver River on February 8.
Fitness Forum/Ultimate Goal/Sports 481 Fabulous Effort: Jaiden Holloman, Corcoran boys basketball. Holloman hit for 33 points in the Cougars’ 76-67 win over Fayetteville-Manlius on February 10.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Outstanding Athlete: Mackinley Ronan, Clinton girls ice hockey. Ronan’s goal in the last seconds of double overtime beat Skaneateles 1-0 and won the Section III championship on February 8.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Jack Lamson, Jordan-Elbridge wrestling. Lamson was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Section III Class B championships on February 4 after his victory at 145 pounds.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Colin Stafford, South Lewis boys indoor track and field. Stafford won both the 1,000 and 3,200-meter runs in the February 7 Section III Class C championship meet.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Anna Dow, Faith Heritage girls volleyball. Dow had 33 assists and 19 digs in the Saints’ sectional Class D playoff win over Thousand Islands February 8.
Revitalize! CNY Rewarding Performance: Jackson Suddaby, Syracuse ice hockey. Suddaby’s 36 saves were a big reason why the Cougars forged a 2-2 tie with Baldwinsville on February 7.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Danielle Seamon, Cooperstown girls basketball. The Hawkeyes won a big showdown with Westmoreland 50-37 as Seamon got 18 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and four assists.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Christian DeJoseph, LaFayette boys basketball, becoming the first player in program history to earn 1,000 career points in the Lancers’ 57-53 win over Onondaga February 10.
Upstate Urology Upstart: Truman Reminicky, Central Square boys diving. Reminicky won the Section III Class A championships on February 11 with a total of 502.6 points.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Trevor Cyr, New Hartford boys bowling. Cyr, with two 300 games this season, had the best six-game series of 1,354 and led the Spartans to the Section III Class B and Division I championships on February 5.
Zero Draft Defensive Standout: Alazayah Smith, Chittenango girls basketball. Smith set a career mark with 28 rebounds to go with 21 points as the Bears surprised Hannibal 47-46 on February 7.
