Atlas Fence All-Star: Lily Lockwood, Syracuse City girls soccer. Lockwood recorded a three-goal hat trick and added an assist carrying her under-.500 Syracuse side to a surprising 5-4 win over Chittenango on October 5 when the Bears owned a 7-3 record.
Attilios Ace Award: Kayla Duenkel, Bishop Grimes girls volleyball. Between her 14 kills, 10 digs and five blocks Duenkel had a lot to do with the Cobras removing Hamilton from the unbeaten ranks in a four-set match on September 30.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Jamison Young, Cato-Meridian football. Long touchdown runs of 56 and 40 yards by Young in the first quarter got the Mustangs rolling in its October 4 game against Pulaski and ultimately led to a 61-16 romp of the Blue Devils.
CNY Sealing and Paving Defensive Standout: Lindsay Parker, Jamesville-DeWitt girls soccer. Parker stopped 12 of the 13 shots she faced to help the Red Rams get a 1-1 draw with undefeated East Syracuse Minoa on September 28 before back-to-back shutouts of Oswego and Auburn.
Ethan Allen Award of Excellence: Ellie Roberts, South Jefferson girls cross country. The Spartans swept the girls and boys Large School divisions during the October 5 Tully Invitational as Roberts took the individual race in a time of exactly 19 minutes 26 seconds.
The Image Press Icon: Keegan McNabb, Weedsport field hockey. McNabb helped Weedsport stay atop the OHSL standings by earning a goal and assist in her team’s tough 2-1 win over the host Cazenovia Lakers on October 3.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Jahbari Clarke, Bishop Ludden/SAS football, scoring on a four-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, his fourth TD of the game, the winning points as the Gaelic Knights topped unbeaten, state Class C no. 6-ranked Skaneateles 41-37 on October 5.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Riley McAloon, West Genesee Gold boys golf. Shooting a three-under-par 33 at Pine Grove, McAloon led the Wildcats to clinch the SCAC Metro regular-season title September 30 with its second win over Fayetteville-Manlius Green in as many weeks, this one 177-189.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Phoebe Jennings, Lowville girls tennis. Jennings edged Ava Rizzo in a third-set tiebreaker and helped Lowville defeat Canastota 4-1 in the October 4 opening round of the Section III Class C team tournament.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Vivian Pilon, Marcellus girls swimming. Pilon earned first-place finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (25.87 seconds) and 100-yard freestyle (57.70) during the October 4 Salt City Sprint Invitational at Nottingham.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Riley Moyer, Liverpool field hockey. Moyer put in both of her team’s goals, including one in the fourth quarter, and helped the Warriors push past Baldwinsville 2-1 in the October 5 final of the Bees’ Huntington Classic.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Tyler Munnich, Cicero-North Syracuse boys soccer, netting the game’s only goal in overtime that made the difference for the Northstars knocking off the West Genesee Wildcats 1-0 on October 1.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Colin Clark, Fayetteville-Manlius football. Clark did it all, from two interceptions on defense to a game-altering kick return for a touchdown at the start of the third quarter as the Hornets edged Baldwinsville 29-26 on October 4 for its first win since the 2022 season.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Jonathan Mazur, Living Word Academy boys volleyball. Picking up 40 assists in just three sets, Mazur set up more than half the Lions’ total points in a three-set sweep of Oswego on October 3.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Bailey Frost, Fulton girls volleyball. When the Red Dragons pulled out a five-set decision against Jamesville-DeWitt on October 3 Rodriguez led the way serving up six aces, earning 13 kills and adding a team-best 15 digs.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Jake Woolbert, Cazenovia boys cross country, crossing the finish line in 17 minutes 2.3 seconds, the quickest time of the day, on the way to the Small School championship in the October 5 Tully Invitational.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Ryan Rauber, Tully boys soccer. In the highly-anticipated rematch of the 2023 Section III Class C final on September 28 Rauber scored twice in the first half, all that the Falcons needed to defeat Fabius-Pompey 2-0.
