APEX Amazing Athlete: Cori Martin, General Brown girls wrestling. Winning all five of her bouts at 132 and 138 pounds Martin helped the Lions to a perfect 5-0 mark at the Camden Blue Devil Duals on January 31.
Atlas Fence All-Star: Ben Lamson, Jordan-Elbridge wrestling. Lamson has won all 14 of his contested bouts this season and with the 138-pound title helped the Eagles win the Onondaga High School League tournament January 31.
B&B Lumber Big Mover: Matt Moore, Beaver River boys basketball. The Beavers defeated Copenhagen 74-65 on January 27 as Moore poured in 25 points adding five rebounds, five steals and three assists.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Telhia Hosea, Bishop Ludden-Grimes girls indoor track and field. Sweeping to wins in the 55 and 300-meter dash Hosea helped the Gaelic Knights to the team title in the January 28 OHSL Division II championships at SRC Arena.
Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Brooke Reddington, West Canada Valley girls basketball. The Nighthawks ended Frankfort-Schuyler’s 14-game win streak 47-33 on January 29 with Reddington earning a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Anna Lund, Tully girls volleyball. When the Black Knights rallied from two sets down to top East Syracuse Minoa on January 29 Lund picked up 28 assists, 18 digs, three aces and four blocks.
Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Tom Hellenthal, Cooperstown boys swimming. Hellenthal won the 50 and 100 freestyle and qualified for the NYSPHSAA championship meet in both events during the January 31 Tri-Valley League championships.
F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Lejla Kendic, Sauquoit Valley girls basketball. Kendic picked up 26 points, nearly half her team’s output, helping the Hawks roll past Brookfield 56-32 on January 28.
The Image Press Icon: Elijah Pomales, Rome Free Academy boys volleyball. Pomales finished with 32 assists, 12 digs, four aces, four kills and three blocks helping the Black Knights defeat Oneida in four sets on January 28.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Doug Clark, Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field, clearing 12 feet 6 inches in the pole vault to win that event and help the Bees edge Auburn by two points to win the SCAC Metro division title January 27 at SRC Arena.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Ryan McGrath, Adirondack boys basketball. When the Wildcats defeated Westmoreland 60-45 on January 30 McGrath led the way picking up 21 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Carter Mathewson, WeVWst Genesee ice hockey. Mathewson stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced and helped push the Wildcats to a 3-1 victory over Rome Free Academy on January 29 at Shove Park.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Molly Orth, Morrisville-Eaton girls volleyball. The Mavericks defeated DeRuyter in four sets on January 30 pushed there by Orth earning a team-best 20 kills plus nine digs, three blocks and three aces.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Anna LeFevre, Auburn girls basketball. LeFevere shattered her previous career mark with 26 points helping the Maroons defeat East Syracuse Minoa 58-36 on January 28.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Brady Docteur, Weedsport boys basketball. Docteur earned half of his 24 points from four 3-pointers helping the Wolverines defeat Syracuse OnTech 76-56 on January 31 to improve to 13-3 this season.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Tennison Eiss, Indian River boys wrestling, pinning General Brown’s Carsyn Ferard in 41 seconds for the 144-pound title and helping the Hawks take the team title in the January 31 Frontier League championships.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Libiya Dawson, Nottingham girls indoor track and field. Dawson won the 55-meter hurdles and was third in the long jump and helped the Bulldogs win the SCAC Empire division championship January 27 at SRC Arena.
Potter and Perone Special Performance: Drew Telesky, Sherburne-Earlville boys wrestling. Telesky won the 103-pound championship and improved to 24-3 on the season as the Timberwolves won the team title in the January 31 Center State Conference tournament.
Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Owen Garrigan, Cato-Meridian boys indoor track and field. Garrigan won the weight throw and was second in the shot put helping the Blue Devils take the team title in the January 28 OHSL Division II championships at SRC Arena.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Austin Clarke, Cicero-North Syracuse ice hockey. Clarke’s two goals and two assists helped the Northstars defeat Fayetteville-Manlius 5-3 on January 30 avenging an earlier defeat to the Hornets.
Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Micah-Jarrell Stewart, Henninger boys basketball. Stewart’s career-best total of 24 points were needed for the Black Knights to defeat Baldwinsville 54-51 on January 30.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Alexis Wagner, LaFayette girls basketball. Piling up 15 points and 17 rebounds Wagner helped key the Lancers’ 48-44 victory over Fabius-Pompey on January 29.
Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Caleb Hamilton, Homer boys bowling. Hamilton shot a season-best 636 series and high game of 255 as the Trojans rolled to a 7-0 victory over Chittenango on January 29.
Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Nadia Rose, Fulton girls wrestling. The Red Dragons won the team title in the Homer Lady Legacy Tournament on January 31 as Rose took top honors at 145 pounds and improved her season mark to 33-6.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Jack Prendergast, Fayetteville-Manlius boys swimming, winning the 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley back-to-back during the January 31 Watertown Invitational.
U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Rachel Zdep, Christian Brothers Academy girls volleyball. Zdep earned 23 assists and four aces which helped the Brothers sweep Manlius Pebble Hill in three sets on January 29.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Michael Johnson, Cazenovia ice hockey. The Lakers pulled away late to defeat Ontario Bay 7-2 on January 29 helped by Johnson emerging to get four goals and one assist.
Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Anthony Bryant, East Syracuse Minoa boys basketball. Bryant picked up a season-best 32 points and helped the Spartans win its eighth game in a row 87-69 over Fulton on January 30.
