Atlas Fence All-Star: Alex Dolly, Cazenovia boys soccer. When the Lakers shut out Chittenango 2-0 in the August 29 season opener Dolly put in two of his team’s goals helping Cazenovia pull away in the late going.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Mia Mulhern and Olivia Giarissi, Cicero-North Syracuse girls tennis. Mulhern and Giarissi rallied in three sets to beat Emily Page and Mackenna Mayer to seal a 4-3 Northstars win over West Genesee on August 28.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Noor Chhablani, Manlius Pebble Hill girls soccer. When the Trojans defeated Sherburne-Earlville 4-0 on August 30 Chhablani poured in two goals after having just four the entire 2024 season.
The Image Press Icon: Parker Baye and Liam Smart, Central Square boys golf. Baye and Smart tied for low individual round both shooting 37 at Owasco Country Club in the second SCAC Empire match of the season on August 26.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Marya McCumber, Little Falls field hockey, scoring in the fourth quarter assisted by Adrianna Izzo to help the Mounties defeat Fayetteville-Manlius 1-0 in the August 30 final of the Hornets’ season-opening tournament.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Nate Matteson, South Jefferson boys soccer. With his goal and two assists Duggan anchored a well-balanced Spartans attack as it defeated Clinton 4-1 on August 28.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Nataleigh Smith, Mexico girls tennis. Smith’s three-set 6-0, 1-6, 7-6 win over Natalie Fox earned an important point for the Tigers as it defeated Chittenango 4-3 on August 28.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Ciara Duggan, Christian Brothers Academy girls soccer. Duggan’s two goals and two assists led the Brothers past Baldwinsville 5-2 in the August 30 final of the Ava Wood Memorial Tournament.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Kayla Flask, Weedsport field hockey. Flask’s three-goal hat trick, one goal in each of the first three quarters, pushed the Wolverines past Port Byron-Union Springs 3-1 on August 28 in the opening round of the Cayuga County Tournament in Moravia.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Eddie Koroma, Bishop Ludden-Grimes boys soccer, scoring a pair of breakaway goals which helped push the newly merged team to a 4-0 victory over Corcoran/ITC in its first game of the season on August 27.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Danica Smith, Homer girls volleyball. Earning 28 assists and adding six digs, Smith helped the Trojans sweep past Fulton in three sets in their August 28 season opener.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Keani Diggs, Syracuse City girls soccer. When Syracuse defeated Fulton 6-2 in the August 30 consolation game of the Ava Wood Memorial Tournament Diggs put together a three-goal hat trick.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Muridi Saladi, Utica Proctor boys soccer. When the Raiders defeated PSLA-Fowler 6-0 August 30 in the Cicero-North Syracuse Optimist Tournament Saladi set the pace earning two goals and adding an assist.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Stellar Athlete: Cross Newman, LaFayette boys golf. Newman’s 38 for nine holes at Orchard Vali helped the Lancers knock off Tully 208-234 on August 25.
Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Ayzlei Winans, East Syracuse Minoa girls soccer. Winans scored twice and assisted on her team’s other goal helping the Spartans shut out Fayetteville-Manlius 3-0 in the August 30 season opener for both teams.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Dylan George, Hamilton boys soccer earning the second-half goal which helped the defending state Class D champion Emerald Knights beat Faith Heritage 1-0 in the Aug. 29 opening round of the Fabius-Pompey Tournament.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Maura Catanzano, Phoenix girls volleyball. When the Firebirds earned a three-set sweep of Central Square on August 28 Catanzano led the charge earning 11 kills, four aces and eight digs.
Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Melanny Olivio, Rome Free Academy girls tennis. Olivio topped Nora Marshall in three sets and helped the Black Knights top Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 6-1 on August 26 on its way to a 2-0 start.
