Atlas Fence All-Star: Ella Dumit, Jamesville-DeWitt girls lacrosse. Dumit’s four goals helped the Red Rams battle past Honeoye Falls-Lima 14-12 in the June 7 state Class C semifinal at Christian Brothers Academy’s Alibrandi Stadium.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Serenity Williams, Solvay girls track and field. With her total of 3,007 points Williams captured the Class C championship in the pentathlon during the June 13-14 NYSPHSAA championships at Middletown.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Winning Achievement: Jack Wenham, West Genesee boys lacrosse. Wenham netted five goals in the Wildcats’ 16-6 win over Penfield in the June 11 state Class A semifinal and six goals in the 15-10 loss to Half Hollow Hills in the state title game.
The Image Press Icon: Cameron Cappetta, Solvay baseball. Cappetta had two hits and scored three runs for the Bearcats when it defeated Chester 6-4 in the first regional round of the state Class B playoffs on June 5.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Ellie Freeth, Hamilton softball, hitting the game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh inning of the June 14 state Class D final against Argyle that the Emerald Knights eventually won 11-10, .
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Jack Ludington, Christian Brothers Academy boys lacrosse. Even as the Brothers lost 17-11 to Canandaigua in the state Class B semifinal June 11 Ludington led the Brothers with six goals and one asisst.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Hunter Gilmore, Cato-Meridian boys track and field. Gilmore finished third in the Class C 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.23 seconds during the June 13-14 NYSPHSAA championships in Middletown.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Annelise Jensen, Cooperstown girls track and field. With a time of four minutes 34.22 seconds Jensen won the Class C portion of the 1,500-meter run at the June 14 NYSPHSAA championships in Middletown.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Nick Meluni, West Genesee baseball. Leading off, Meluni walked, singled and scored twice to key the Wildcats’ 5-3 victory over Ballston Spa in the June 8 Class AAA regional final in Troy.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Danny Y0ung, Westhill boys golf. Young’s tie for seventh place in the NYSPHSAA tournament June 8-9 at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville helped Section III capture the overall team title, too.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Nikita Domashenko, Fayetteville-Manlius boys track and field, capturing both the NYSPHSAA and Federation titles in the 200-meter dash during the June 14 state championships at Middletown.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Julia Covey, Watertown girls lacrosse. Even though the Cyclones lost 16-13 to Columbia in the June 7 state Class B regional final Covey had a strong individual showing as she netted three goals and added a pair of assists.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Vanessa Trumble, Pulaski girls track and field. In the June 14 NYSPHSAA championships at Middletown Trumble rose to second place in the Class C high jump by clearing 5 feet 4 inches.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Ben Carroll, Bishop Grimes baseball. Carroll had three hits, scored twice and pitched a complete game in the Cobras’ final-ever game, a 4-3 defeat to Deposit in the June 7 Class C regional finals.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Lindsey Chong, Fayetteville-Manlius girls golf. Chong’s tie for 37th was the best total for the Hornets as it finished a program-best third in the NYSPHSAA team championship June 8-9 at Wild Wood Country Club in Rush.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Camron Ingram, Cicero-North Syracuse boys track and field. Ingram added another NYSPHSAA title to his ledger when he claimed the Class A 110 high hurdles June 14 at the state meet in Middletown.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Madison Foy, Marcellus girls track and field, going one minute 1.87 seconds to win the NYSPHSAA Class C championship in the 400-meter hurdles on June 13 in Middletown.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Jackson Saroney, Jamesville-DeWitt boys golf. With a tournament-record 132, Saroney won the individual NYSPHSAA championship June 9 at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville.
