APEX Ace Award: Mikayla Glazier, Sandy Creek girls volleyball. Glazier produced seven kills and 23 assists, leading the Comets all over the court in a four-set victory over South Jefferson on December 9.
Atlas Fence All-Star: Jay-Neil McDuffie, East Syracuse Minoa boys indoor track and field. The Spartans won the first session of the December 13 Jack Morse Kickoff Meet at SRC Arena led by McDuffie finishing first in the 55-meter dash, 55-meter hurdles and long jump.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Alyssa Millard, Lowville girls basketball. Millard’s 22 points were all crucial to Lowville as she netted more than half her team’s offense and led them past the Carthage Comets 42-39 on December 10.
Energy Savers Defensive Standout: Sean Lemarche, Fayetteville-Manlius ice hockey. The Hornets blanked Baldwinsville 5-0 at Cicero Twin Rinks on December 12 with Lemarche managing to stop each of the 23 shots he faced.
The Image Press Icon: Dylan Buckingham, Beaver River wrestling. Aided by Buckingham’s perfect 5-0 mark at 160 and 170 pounds, the Beavers claimed the team title in the December 14 General Brown Duals.
JKS Roofing High Achiever: Aiden Starratt, Auburn boys bowling. Starratt shot games of 258, 257 and 256 for a 771 series at Strike-N-Spare Lanes which helped the Maroons defeat Cicero-North Syracuse on December 13.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Derricka Trotman, Westhill girls indoor track and field, clearing 5 feet 2 inches in the high jump to win that event and propel her team to victory in the Jack Morse Kickoff Meet December 13 at SRC Arena.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Ryan Vann, Liverpool boys swimming. It was Vann’s first-place finishes in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle which keyed Liverpool defeating Cicero-North Syracuse 97-88 in their December 12 clash.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Adrianna Izzo, Little Falls girls basketball. When the Mounties defeated West Canada Valley 65-35 on December 12 Izzo did it all earning 20 points while adding seven assists, seven steals and six rebounds.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Justin LaMunion, Madison boys basketball. A force in every way, LaMunion gained 18 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks to dominate the Blue Devils’ 73-36 victory over Brookfield on December 13.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Lexus Bonnie, Phoenix girls wrestling. Bonnie’s run to the 107-pound championship at the Firebirds’ own round-robin tournament on December 13 improved her record to 7-0 and helped her side win the team title, too.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Elliott Barbosa, Marcellus wrestling, pinning Central Square’s Bryce St. Clair for the 190-pound championship to help the Mustangs to the team title in the December 14 Dave Buck Memorial Tournament in Elmira.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Jenna Hayes, Oswego girls ice hockey. Between her goal and three assists Hayes was the catalyst for the Buccaneers during a 5-0 shutout of Webster Thomas on December 12 at Crisafulli Rink.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Mya Locke, Homer girls wrestling. Locke earned the 120-pound championship during the December 13 Union-Endicott Girls Tradesmen Tournament and improve her season mark to 7-0 in the process.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Gaho Shenandoah, Syracuse ice hockey. The Cougars were impressive in a 9-1 romp over CNY Fusion on December 12 led by Shenandoah, who set a new career mark by netting four goals.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Jameson Stockwell, New Hartford boys basketball. A veteran with lots of big-game experience, Stockwell amassed 31 points to carry the Spartans past Camden 70-61 on December 11.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Addison Nichols, Fulton girls bowling, shooting a 300 game at B’ville Sports Bowl in the opener of the Red Dragons’ 7-0 victory over Baldwinsville and later adding a 280 third game to nearly have an 800 aggregate.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Brooke Wiley, General Brown girls basketball. The Lions won a showdown with defending sectional Class A champion Indian River 50-43 on December 10 led by Wiley earning 20 points, six rebounds and five steals.
