Atlas Fence All-Star: Dean Bratslavsky and Jacob Price, Jamesville-DeWitt boys tennis. Rallying in three sets to beat Dylan Berg and Ohm Patel, Bratslavsky and Price earned the clinching point to help the Red Rams top New Hartford 3-2 and win the Section III Class B championship on May 16.
Attilios Ace Award: Jenna Wing, Solvay softball. All that Wing did in the Bearcats’ 6-0 victory over Tully on May 17 was throw a perfect game, retiring all 21 batters she faced while recording 11 strikeouts.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Rosie Mahoney, Westhill girls lacrosse. When the state Class D no. 3-ranked Warriors put away Marcellus 17-9 on May 14, Mahoney set a new career mark by amassing eight assists to go with her three-goal hat trick.
CNY Sealing and Paving Defensive Standout: Connor Reynolds, Fayetteville-Manlius boys lacrosse. Reynolds earned 11 saves in a tight 9-8 win over Pittsford May 11 and 12 saves to beat Cicero-North Syracuse by that same margin three nights later.
Ethan Allen Award of Excellence: William D’Agata, Rome Free Academy boys track and field. D’Agata cleared 13 feet in the pole vault and topped 5’9″ in the high jump to win both events in the May 14 Tri-Valley League championships at Utica Proctor.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Outstanding Athlete: Avery Bowman, Christian Brothers Academy softball. All that Bowman did for the Brothers in a 30-3 victory over Homer on May 16 was hit a home run, double and single and earn a career-best nine RBIs.
The Image Press Icon: Autumn Millington, Westmoreland softball. The Bulldogs bashed Herkimer 17-4 on May 14 as Millington dominated at the plate with four hits, including a home run, scored four runs and earned three RBIs.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Marissa Doty, Cicero-North Syracuse girls lacrosse. When the Northstars completed a regular-season sweep of Baldwinsville 19-3 on May 14, Doty was at the forefront, her six goals twice the opposition’s total.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Kole Otts, Canastota boys track and field. Otts won four events during the May 14 Center State Conference Division I championships at Adirondack, taking the 100-meter dash, long jump, high jump and triple jump.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Victoria Cleveland, Frankfort-Schuyler softball. When the Maroon Knights outscored Sauquoit Valley 17-10 on May 14, Cleveland went three-for-five at the plate and finished with four RBIs.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Jack Donovan, Oswego baseball. Not only did Donovan pitch a complete-game, six-hit shutout to help the Buccaneers defeat Auburn 2-0 on May 16, he also scored one of the game’s two runs.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Sam Beadie, Oneida boys golf. Shooting a 36 for nine holes at Camroden Golf Course, Beadie led the Express to a 199-228 victory over Holland Patent on May 13.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Jacob Verbanic, Tully boys lacrosse. When the Black Knights pulled away from rival LaFayette/Onondaga 19-10 on May 16, Verbanic was at the center of the effort, netting four goals and adding four assists.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Connor Usowski, Port Byron baseball. Usowski piled up 15 strikeouts in his complete-game effort that helped the Panthers defeat rival Weedsport 4-2 on May 11.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Oneida and Baldwinsville girls flag football winning the first-ever Section III championships in the sport on May 17 at Henninger, the Express defeating Syracuse Academy of Science in Division II, the Bees topping Syracuse East in Division I.
Upstate Urology Upstart: Telhia Hosea, Bishop Grimes girls track and field. Hosea swept to victories in both the 100 and 200-meter sprints during the Onondaga High School League Patriot American division championships on May 14 at Tully.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Molly Doran, West Genesee girls lacrosse. Doran needed each of her two goals and two assists to help power the Wildcats past Fayetteville-Manlius 9-8 in the May 16 regular-season finale.
