APEX Ace Award: Owen Dougherty, Jamesville-DeWitt boys volleyball. Dougherty gained 18 kills and eight digs to help the Red Rams win its 50th consecutive match beating Burnt Hills-Ballston Lakes in four sets in the Division II regional semifinal on November 13.
Atlas Fence All-Star: Gavin Hames, Hamilton boys soccer. The Emerald Knights shut out South Kortright 4-0 in the Class D regional final on November 9 led by Hames, who picked up a goal and assist as part of a well-balanced attack.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Madison MacKaig, Baldwinsville girls volleyball. With her 31 assists, seven kills, four blocks, seven digs and three aces MacKaig helped the Bees rally from two sets down to defeat Liverpool in the November 9 Section III Class AAA championship match.
Energy Savers Defensive Standout: Brooke Benson, Rome Free Academy field hockey. Benson stopped all three shots she faced anchoring a Black Knights defense which kept Fairport off the board on November 9 for a 1-0 victory in the Class A regional final.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Outstanding Athlete: Ean Piasczyk, Remsen boys cross country. The Rams edged South Lewis by a single point for the Section III Class D championship November 9 at Mount Markham helped by Piasczyk winning the individual race in a time of 16 minutes 21.5 seconds.
The Image Press Icon: Jamison Young, Mount Markham football. When the Mustangs battled past Cato-Meridian 21-6 in the November 8 Section III Class D semifinal Young anchored the offense, scoring twice while gaining 103 yards on 15 carries.
JKS Roofing High Achiever: Ingrid Aagaard, Homer girls cross country. In a time of 19 minutes 21.6 seconds Aagaard earned the individual title during the November 9 Section III Class B championships at Mount Markham on November 9.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Tykeith Hardness, Corcoran football, returning a punt 60 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter which helped launch the Cougars to a 48-0 romp over Central Square in the November 8 Section III Class A semifinal.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Gracen Grimm, Clinton field hockey. When the Comets romped past East Rochester 7-0 in the November 9 Class C regional final, Grimm joined her sister, Gretchen, in recording a three-goal hat trick.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Cassia Schuyler, Cincinnatus girls soccer. Schuyler’s superb season continued with three more goal to run her season total to 39 in the Lions’ 5-0 victory over Elmira Notre Dame in the November 9 Class C regional final.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Molly Murphy, Liverpool girls swimming. Murphy’s total of 492.75 points was a career-best total and put her in second place overall during the November 5 Section III state qualifying meet at Nottingham High School.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Martino Rocco, Frankfort-Schuyler football. In the November 7 Section III eight-man football semifinal Rocco scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and had 200 yards on just nine carries leading the Maroon Knights past Bishop Grimes 50-24.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Alyssa Lessels, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill field hockey, netting a goal just two minutes into the Red Devils’ Class B regional game against Starpoint on November 6 that held up the rest of the way, VVS prevailing by a 1-0 margin.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Joscelyn Coniski, Oswego girls swimming. Coniski was victorious in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:00.16 during the Section III state qualifying meet November 8 at Nottingham High School.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Tallen Prior, Phoenix football. When the Firebirds defeated Sherburne-Earlville 48-25 for the Section III Class C/D-2 championship on November 7 Prior threw for 153 yards and four touchdowns while running for 111 yards and scoring twice.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Laila Duggal, Fayetteville-Manlius girls volleyball. The Hornets defeated West Genesee in four sets to earn the Section III Class AA championship on November 9 and Duggal was a primary contributor leading the back line with 28 assists.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Seth Stevens, Whitesboro boys cross country. When Whitesboro snared the Section III Class B championship on November 9 at Mount Markham, Stevens led his team and finished second overall in 16 minutes 17.4 seconds.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: General Brown football recovering back-to-back onside kicks at the outset of the November 15 Section III Class C final that led to 13 points, the ultimate difference in the Lions’ 19-6 victory over Bishop Ludden.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Annabelle Renzi, South Jefferson girls cross country. Renzi’s third-place individual finish helped lead the Spartans to again claim the overall team title in the November 9 Section III Class C championships at Mount Markham.
