APEX Amazing Athlete: Abby Scheidelman, Chittenango girls soccer. Scheidelman passed 100 career goals in the Bears’ first-round Section III Class A playoff win over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill October 21 and added a goal when it knocked off Westhill in the quarterfinals two days later.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Ben Morford, Clinton boys cross country. The Comets won the Center State Conference team championship October 25 at Sauquoit Valley as Morford finished third among individuals with a time of 18 minutes 43.5 seconds.

B&B Lumber Big Mover: Cooper Donaldson, General Brown football. Donaldson ran for 134 yards and scored his team’s first two touchdowns to set the tone as the Lions knocked Canastota from the unbeaten ranks 48-13 on October 24.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Lottie Bruzdzinski, Westhill girls volleyball. The Wolf Pack ended Marcellus’ 13-match win streak in a three-set sweep on October 23 as Bruzdzinski paced the front line and picked up 11 kills.

CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Delilah Pandori-Howell, Nottingham girls cross country. In a time of 17 minute 23.8 seconds Pandori-Howell pulled away to take individual honors in the October 22 Salt City Athletic Conference championship meet at Baldwinsville.

Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Assad Mohamed, Utica Proctor boys soccer. Earning three assists to go with a goal, Mohamed led a balanced Raiders attack as it beat Rome Free Academy 7-1 in the October 23 Section III Class AAA quarterfinals.

F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Trevor Moon, Weedsport football. The Wolverines shut out Port Byron/Union Springs 22-0 on October 24 getting big production from Moon which included 166 yards on 23 carries plus a pair of touchdowns.

The Image Press Icon: Claire Filipowicz, Hamilton girls soccer. With her pair of goals, Filipowicz powered the Emerald Knights past Dolgeville 5-2 in the Section III Class D quarterfinals on October 23.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Nathan Geroux, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill boys cross country, edging Rome Free Academy’s Luke Pelton by less than a second in 16:58.7 to win the individual Tri-Valley League championship October 25 at Central Valley Academy.

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Avery Morrison, Camden field hockey. The Blue Devils defeated East Syracuse Minoa 5-0 in the October 23 Section III Class B quarterfinals with Morrison picking up three assists to go with her lone goal.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Eve Lytel, New Hartford girls swimming. Lytel’s first-place finishes in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle helped power the Spartans to the team title in the October 24 Tri-Valley League championship meet.

M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Nick Christopher, Liverpool boys volleyball. The Legends beat Fayetteville-Manlius and Cicero-North Syracuse in back-to-back matches with Christopher dishing out 52 total assists in nine combined sets.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Kyle Caraher, Cazenovia football. Caraher’s seven tackles led a Lakers defense which held Holland Patent to 38 total yards in a 38-0 shutout victory on October 25.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Maura Catanzano, Phoenix girls volleyball. When the Firebirds defeated Chittenango in four sets on October 23 Catanzano piled up 16 kill and 18 digs while adding three aces and three blocks.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Jayden Weather, Christian Brothers Academy football, blocking a field goal as time ran out to preserve the Brothers’ 21-20 victory over Cicero-North Syracuse on October 23 and extend its win streak to 36 in a row.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Brielle TenEyck, Copenhagen girls soccer. TenEyck netted the only goal of the game for the Gold Knights in a tense 1-0 victory over Remsen in the October 23 Section III Class D quarterfinals.

Potter and Perone Special Performance: Carter and Casey Metott, Central Valley Academy boys soccer. Carter scored twice and Casey assisted on both goals, including the overtime game-winner, when the Thunder beat South Jefferson 2-1 in the October 23 Section III Class A quarterfinal.

Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Koreese Young, Corcoran football. The Cougars rallied to beat Central Square 30-22 on October 24 with a big contribution from Young who carried the ball six times for 171 yards and a touchdown.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Ella Ridgeway, Oneida girls cross country. Ridgeway’s third-place individual finish helped the Express edge Vernon-Verona-Sherrill by a single point to take the Tri-Valley League championship October 25 at Central Valley Academy.

Rockbridge Management Investment Risk Taker: Piper Haffey, Morrisville-Eaton field hockey. The Mavericks routed New York Mills 8-0 in the Section III Class D quarterfinals on October 21 with Haffey putting together a three-goal hat trick.

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Ethan Nguyen, Syracuse City boys volleyball. Led by 11 kills from Nguyen to go with two assists and three digs, Syracuse put together a four-set victory over Central Square on October 20.

Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Lilianna Joy Remar, Carthage girls swimming. During the October 25 Frontier League championship meet Remar earned first-place finishes in both the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Stellar Athlete: Ella St. Croix, Beaver River girls soccer. St. Croix made 10 saves and also had stops in a penalty kick shoot-out to help the Beavers oust Sauquoit Valley in the October 25 Section III Class C quarterfinal.

Top Notch Roofing Top Star: K’Mari Jones, East Syracuse Minoa football. The Spartans earned its third consecutive shutout 20-0 over Auburn on October 24 led by Jones’ 10 1/2 tackles which paced the defense.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Mina Leopold, Fayetteville-Manlius girls tennis, defeating Christian Brothers Academy’s Rowan Doyle in three sets in the third-place match for the final state tournament berth in the October 23 Section III state qualifier at Drumlins.

U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Riley Abernethy, Bishop Ludden-Grimes girls volleyball. The Gaelic Knights defeated Jordan-Elbridge in four sets on October 23 as Abernethy was dominant on the front line with 19 kills to go with five aces and seven digs.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Jorja Bolton, West Canada Valley girls soccer. With her two goals and one assist bolton helped the Nighthawks handle Herkimer 7-1 in the October 23 opening round of the Section III Class C playoffs.

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Anthony Guidone, Jamesville-DeWitt football. Guidone threw for a touchdown, ran for two others and returned an interception for a fourth score in the undefeated Red Rams’ 37-7 win over Pulaski on October 25.
