Atlas Fence All-Star: Miley Ginty, West Genesee girls volleyball. The Wildcats won a five-set classic over Fayetteville-Manlius on October 17 as Ginty led the front line earning 20 kills and four blocks, plus six digs.
B&B Lumber Big Mover: Ellie Bryant, Mexico girls cross country. The eighth-grader was victorious in the October 18 Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Invitational finishing in a time of 20 minutes 22.7 seconds nearly a full minute ahead of the field.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Makayla Land, Sauquoit Valley girls soccer. The Hawks pulled out a 3-2 victory over Remsen on October 14 keyed by Land scoring two of her team’s three goals.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Andy Lurvey, Manlius Pebble Hill boys soccer. Picking up a pair of goals, Lurvey led the way for the Trojans as it picked up a 3-0 shutout of Tully on October 16.
Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Devin Swiernik, Lowville football. Swiernik’s 13 tackles led Lowville’s defense as it knocked off General Brown 22-20 in a clash of undefeated North Country teams on October 17.
F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Josh Blanton, Carthage boys cross country. In a time of 16:38.3 seconds Blanton just beat out a talented and closely bunched field to win the Frontier League individual championship on October 14 at Beaver River.
The Image Press Icon: Brody Vollmer, East Syracuse Minoa boys volleyball. Picking up 42 assists, Vollmer needed all of them to help the Spartans defeat Baldwinsville in four sets on October 15 .
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Claire Schaefer, Christian Brothers Academy girls tennis defeating top-seeded teammate Rowan Doyle in straight sets to earn the Section III Division II singles championship on October 16.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Trevor Shawcross, Indian River football. When the Wolves dominated Homer 62-8 on October 17 no one could contain Shawcross, who gained 306 yards on just 16 carries and scoring two touchdowns.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Sophia Johnson, Westhill girls volleyball. Johnson accumulated 39 assists along with seven digs as the Wolf Pack fought past Cicero-North Syracuse in a five-set battle on October 15.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Kierra Keegan, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill girls soccer. Keegan picked up a goal and assist which helped carry the Red Devils to a 2-1 victory over Oneida on October 16.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Gavin Hames, Hamilton boys soccer. The Emerald Knights rolled to a 7-2 victory over McGraw on October 16 with Hames carrying the attack thanks to his four goals and two assists.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Ayla Kalfass, Baldwinsville girls tennis. Not dropping a set in any of her four matches, Kalfass cruised to the Section III Division I championship beating teammate Elaina Nesbitt in the finals.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Lana Moore, Whitesboro girls cross country, edging Liverpool’s Gabrielle Hines by four-tenths of a second in 19:31.1 to win the large-school portion of the October 18 Marcellus Invitational.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Hugh Carroll, Skaneateles football. Not only did Carroll throw a touchdown pass and run for a touchdown in the Lakers’ 22-20 victory over Solvay on October 16, he also led the defense recording 9 1/2 tackles.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Kacie Owens, Mount Markham field hockey. Owens anchored the Mustangs’ attack in a 6-0 victory over Oneida on October 16 piling up four assists to go with her lone goal.
Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Casimir Smolnik, Central Square boys soccer. Each of Smolnik’s nine saves was important for the Redhawks as it battled to a 3-2 victory over Oswego on October 14.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Madison Scranton, New Hartford gymnastics. With an all-around score of 37.45 Scranton was second among individual finishers and led the Spartans to yet another Section III team championship on October 17
Rockbridge Management Investment Risk Taker: Sophia Osvoldik, Christian Brothers Academy girls swimming. Osvoldik’s score of 453.25 points in the October 18 Burgos Dive Invitational qualified her for next month’s NYSPHSAA championship meet.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Sloane Sestito, Rome Free Academy field hockey. The Black Knights stayed unbeaten by taking out New Hartford 3-0 on October 15 with Sestito earning two of RFA’s three goals.
Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: J’Shon Goolsby, Bishop Ludden-Grimes/SAS football. Both of Goolsby’s catches went for touchdowns amounting to 102 yards which the Gaelic Knights needed to defeat Westhill 34-32 on October 17.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Stellar Athlete: Luke Schaefer, Jamesville-DeWitt boys volleyball. When the Red Rams knocked off Fayetteville-Manlius in four sets on October 16 Schaefer paced J-D putting away 18 kills, adding eight digs.
Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Alyssa Capuano and Gracie Giuliano, Utica Notre Dame girls tennis. The Jugglers’ pair beat teammates Emma and Lily Johnson on October 16 to win the Section III Division IV doubles championship.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Liverpool girls swimming taking the closing 400-yard freestyle relay over Baldwinsville by less than a second as the Legends held on for an 84-81 victory over the Bees in a first-place SCAC Metro division showdown.
Upstate Spray Foam Special Performance: Braedon Hulbert, DeRuyter boys cross country. Hulbert finished third, best among Section III runners, in the small school division of the October 18 Marcellus Invitational.
U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Hayden Spencer, Cooperstown boys soccer. Spencer’s pair of goals helped the Hawkeyes gain a big 3-1 victory over Center State Conference rival Frankfort-Schuyler on October 14.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Liliana Berkey, Port Byron/Union Springs field hockey. When the Panthers gained a 4-3 victory over rival Weedsport on October 14 Berkey had much to do with it earning a goal and two assists.
Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Tiiarra Fox, Remsen girls soccer. Fox all but carried the Rams to a 3-2 overtime victory over Westmoreland on October 18 netting two goals and tacking on an assist.
