Atlas Fence All-Star: Robert Huntley, Sauquoit Valley boys volleyball. When the Hawks outlasted Central Valley Academy in five sets on December 15 Huntley dominated at the net earning 33 kills while also earning five digs.
B&B Lumber Big Mover: Emma Szarek, Westmoreland/Oriskany girls indoor track and field. Szarek won both the 55-meter hurdles and 600-meter run during the evening session of the December 18 Arthur McKinnon Meet at Utica University.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Ryan McGrath, Adirondack boys basketball. The Wildcats defeated West Canada Valley 70-48 on December 18 with McGrath dominating the game thanks to his 38 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Mya Stafford, LaFayette girls basketball. With Stafford earning 19 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals, the Lancers got a 52-49 victory over Pulaski on December 18.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Collin Edwards, Central Square boys bowling. Edwards shot a 731 series with games of 245, 249 and 237 as the Redhawks defeated Fayetteville-Manlius 5-2 on December 16 at Lakeview Lanes.
Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Jianni Berguer, Corcoran boys indoor track and field. Berguer’s shot put throw of 46 feet 3 1/4 inches beat the field by more than five feet during the December 19 session of the Oscar B. Jensen Memorial Relays at SRC Arena.
F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Anden Mertens, Oneida boys swimming. The Express picked up a 110-53 victory over Utica Proctor on December 18 led by Mertens earning first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.
The Image Press Icon: Aiden Prunty, Carthage boys basketball. Prunty put up 30 points as the Comets, 0-20 a season ago, continued its remarkable turnaround defeating General Brown 62-60 on December 16 as part of a 6-1 start.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Kymah Gummaw, Indian River wrestling, earning the 126-pound title to move to 11-0 on the season and named one of the meet’s Outstanding Wrestlers during the December 19 North Country Invitational.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Andrew Lee, Central Valley Academy boys volleyball. Lee picked up 21 assists to go with six kills as the Thunder swept its season opener on December 18 defeating Westmoreland in three sets.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Samantha Geiss, Fayetteville-ManliMus girls bowling. With a three-game total of 543 Geiss helped the Hornets edge Baldwinsville 4-3 in a December 19 match at B’ville Sports Bowl.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Kyra Piersma, Mount Markham girls volleyball. The Mustangs beat Remsen in a December 18 clash of undefeated sides as Piersma picked up 17 kills and added 13 digs.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Anthony Decapio, Marcellus wrestling. With his 150-pound title Decapio helped the Mustangs reached the top of the team standings in the December 13 Dave Buck Tournament at Elmira.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Madelyne Reed, Frankfort-Schuyler girls basketball. In a battle of unbeaten teams the Hawks defeated West Canada Valley 52-46 on December 16 as Reed led them with 15 points and seven rebounds.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Bol Garang, Nottingham boys basketball, driving and converting a basket at the buzzer to help the Bulldogs edge West Genesee 49-47 in a December 19 clash of undefeated Class AA contenders.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Isabella Bombard, Watertown IHC girls basketball. When the Cavaliers defeated Alexandria Bay 53-28 on December 16 Bombard picked up 10 steals to go with 13 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Potter and Perone Special Performance: Aaliyah McDonald, Cicero-North Syracuse girls indoor track and field. McDonald won the 300-meter dash and was a close second in the 55-meter dash during the December 19 Oscar B. Jensen Memorial Relays at SRC Arena.
Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Jack Brown, Homer wrestling. Brown was the 285-pound champion in the December 20 Cuneen Doane Invitational at Walton High School to improve to 10-0 on the season.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Braden Meeks, Rome Free Academy ice hockey. With a three-goal hat trick plus an assist Meeks led the undefeated Black Knights to its fifth consecutive victory 7-1 over Mohawk Valley on December 17.
Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Jacob Upcraft, Mexico boys swimming. Upcraft swam the 50 freestyle in 23.92 seconds and 100 freestyle in exactly 53 seconds as the Tigers swept Indian River and Gouverneur on December 18.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Eddie Kuzawski, Oswego boys basketball. The Buccaneers put away Corcoran 75-60 on December 16 with Kuzawski earning 30 points, including six 3-pointers, while adding 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Jacob Moore, Dolgeville boys indoor track and field. Moore nearly swept the sprints in the afternoon session of the December 18 Arthur McKinnon Meet at Utica University winning the 300-meter dash and adding a second in the 55-meter dash.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Stellar Athlete: Annaj Pitts, Syracuse West girls basketball. Pitts had a triple-double of 10 blocks, 12 rebounds and 10 points plus seven steals when Syracuse West defeated Cortland 57-55 in overtime on December 17.
Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Derick Wang, Fayetteville-Manlius boys swimming. The Hornets earned a 97.5-67.5 victory over Auburn on December 17 as Wang won the 50 freestyle in 22.78 seconds and 100 freestyle in 53.63 seconds.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: New Hartford ice hockey going to Allyn Arena and defeating Skaneateles 5-3 on December 18 to end the three-time defending state champion Lakers’ 26-game win streak.
U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Seneca Lyons, Holland Patent girls wrestling. Capping off a perfect 4-0 week Lyons won the 235-pound championship during the December 19 Cicero-North Syracuse Girls Invitational.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Hannah Ellerson, Cincinnatus girls volleyball. Between her 14 kills and 15 digs, Ellerson was a central figure as the Lions claimed a five-set victory over Sherburne-Earlville on December 17.
Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Lily Green, Sackets Harbor girls basketball. With her 21 points and four rebounds, Green helped the Patriots claim a 53-47 overtime victory over Copenhagen on December 18.
