Awards for 9/13/2025

APEX Amazing Athlete: Rylie Meagher, Camden field hockey. With her two goals and one assist, Meagher helped the Blue Devils shut out Central Valley Academy 3-0 on September 10 and remain undefeated.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Luke Pelton, Rome Free Academy boys cross country. Pelton was victorious in the individual portion of the September 13 New Hartford Invitational with a top time of 16 minutes 19.1 seconds.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Brennin Dempsey, Cooperstown football. Dempsey threw four touchdown passes ranging from 11 to 49 yards all of which helped the Hawkeyes defeat Clinton 40-7 on September 13 and move to 2-0 on the season.

CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Giovanni Ortiz, Syracuse City boys volleyball. Syracuse rallied from two sets down to defeat Oswego in five sets on September 11 led by Ortiz as he dished out 36 assists and added five digs.

Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Gabriel Wheeler, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill football. Wheeler scored touchdowns on four of his five carries while earning 110 yards for the Red Devils as it rolled past Cortland 55-8 on September 12.

The Image Press Icon: Drew Mancini, Skaneateles boys golf. Mancini’s even-par 36 at Skaneateles Country Club was the low round by five shots when the Lakers upended previously unbeaten West Genesee Gold 212-219 on September 9.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Cora Hindsill, Adirondack girls cross country, crossing the finish line in 20 minutes 0.2 seconds to take the individual title during the September 13 New Hartford Invitational.

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Andy Lurvey, Manlius Pebble Hill boys soccer. Lurvey’s goal and assist keyed a second-half comeback for the Trojans and helped earn a 2-1 victory over Fabius-Pompey on September 10.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Bailey Frost, Fulton girls volleyball. the Red Dragons swept Indian River in four sets on September 11 led by Frost piling up 23 kills while also earning 12 digs on the defensive side.

M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Cameryn Brundage, Port Byron/Union Springs field hockey. Brundage picked up two goals and added an assist which helped push the Panthers to a 4-2 victory over Auburn on September 12.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Mary Curtin, Marcellus girls volleyball. When the Mustangs handed Cazenovia its first defeat of the season in four sets on September 9 Curtin produced 36 assists, 10 aces and five digs.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Maddie Barretta, Oneida girls tennis. As the Express got off to an 8-0 start this season Barretta has won all eight of her matches, playing in both singles and doubles contests.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Addison Nortz, Beaver River girls soccer, notching her team’s only goal in the second half to help the Beavers remain undefeated and edge South Lewis 1-0 on September 11.

110 Grill Award of Excellence: Anna Fuller, Christian Brothers Academy girls swimming. Fuller’s first-place finishes in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle helped the Brothers get a 91-73 victory over Oswego on September 10.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Ethan Snyder, Phoenix boys soccer. Snyder piled up three goals for a hat trick as the Firebirds’ torrid start continued on September 9 with an 8-0 shutout over Jordan-Elbridge.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer:  Jay-Neil McDuffie, East Syracuse Minoa football. McDuffie’s three touchdown runs of 31, 34 and 46 yards all in the second quarter helped the Spartans push past Central Square 34-6 on September 13.

Rockbridge Management Investment Risk Taker: Finn Thomas, Cortland boys golf. The Purple Tigers defeated archrival Homer 204-211 on September 11 at Willowbrook Golf Club with Thomas shooting a 37 to lead all individuals.

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Cullin Findlay, Central Square boys volleyball. Findlay picked up 12 kills and added 17 digs which helped the Redhawks edge past Baldwinsville in five sets on September 12.

Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Mya Patti, Cicero-North Syracuse girls cross country. Patti both won the individual title at the East Syracuse Minoa Invitational with a time of 19 minutes 19.2 seconds and helped the Northstars to the team championship.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Stellar Athlete: Ally Duncan, General Brown girls tennis. Duncan’s three-set victory over Camille Summers in second singles helped the Lions defeat South Jefferson 4-1 on September 10.

Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Dylan Foster, DeRuyter boys soccer. The Rockets got past double digits defeating Brookfield 11-0 on September 11 with Foster at the forefront earning four goals along with an assist.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Gunnar Tyrrell, Homer football, returning a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter to put the Trojans ahead for good on the way to defeating Chittenango 48-20 on September 12.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Carlysle Ducey, Cazenovia field hockey. Ducey’s pair of goals helped the Lakers win its fourth consecutive game when it took out Cato-Meridian 5-0 on September 10.

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Katelyn Roach, South Jefferson girls swimming. The Spartans earned a 94-68 victory over Indian River on September 9 with Roach victorious in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races.
