APEX Amazing Athlete: Miley Ginty, West Genesee girls volleyball. Ginty produced 18 kills, 17 digs and three aces as the Wildcats rallied from two sets down to defeat reigning state Class B champion Westhill in five sets on September 8.
Atlas Fence All-Star: Alyssa Lessels, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill field hockey. Lessels took over for the Red Devils in its 6-0 victory over Homer on September 10 piling up five of her team’s goals.
B&B Lumber Big Mover: Dominick Albro, Southern Hills football. Albro gained 187 yards on 14 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns helping the Storm defeat Oneida 37-8 on September 11 and improve to 2-0 on the season. Big 4 Tire Big Time Performance: Will Murphy, Skaneateles boys golf. Murphy’s nine-hole 37 at Skaneateles Country Club tied the low individual score and helped the Lakers top Jamesville-DeWitt 198-204 on September 10. Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: John Henneberry, Jamesville-DeWitt boys volleyball. Henneberry notched 51 assists which were all needed to help the Red Rams fend off Cicero-North Syracuse in five sets in the September 10 season opener. Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Molly Dickinson, Watertown girls swimming. When the Cyclones defeated Lowville 64-46 on September 10 to go to 3-0 on the season Dickinson finished first in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke. F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Muridi Saladi, Utica Proctor boys soccer. Saladi piled up four goals and tacked on an assist helping the Raiders roar to a 7-0 victory over Whitesboro on September 10.The Image Press Icon: Lexie Fragnito, Marcellus girls soccer. When Fragnito scored twice in the Mustangs’ 4-0 victory over Saranac Lake on September 6 she surpassed the 100-goal mark in her high school career.
Iron Horse Gutters Mark of Greatness: Cole Zubrzycki, Lowville football. Zubrzycki ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns and got 16 tackles to lead the Red Raiders’ defense as it beat General Brown 30-14 on September 11. Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Three Burt sisters from East Syracuse Minoa girls cross country – Abigail winning it, Sarah and Rachael close behind – finishing in the top seven of Varsity Race 1 in the September 12 Mustang Invitational at Mount Markham. Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Jason Perkins, Phoenix boys cross country. Perkins roared to a time of 15 minutes 28.5 seconds, best of the meet, winning the Varsity 3 race during the September 12 Mustang Invitational at Mount Markham. Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Brelynn Halsey, Canastota girls tennis. Halsey’s close three-set victory over Kylee Fanigula helped the Raiders gain a 3-2 decision over Westmoreland on September 9. M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Lexa Murphy, Central Square girls volleyball. The Redhawks beat Auburn in three sets on September 9 as Murphy combined 25 assists with seven digs, four aces, two kills and two blocks.Nye Automotive Male Athlete of the Week: Giovanni Lang, Whitesboro football. Lang ran for 332 yards on 23 carries scoring four touchdowns as Whitesboro moved to 2-0 on the season defeating Corcoran 41-22 on September 10.
Nye Automotive Female Athlete of the Week: Raiyah Patterson, New Hartford girls soccer. The Spartans beat defending state Class B champion Marcellus 3-2 in the Hall of Fame Tournament September 10 led by Patterson earning two goals and an assist. O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Brayden Mooney, Baldwinsville boys soccer, netting a natural hat trick in the second half to help the Bees break a scoreless deadlock in its September 11 game at Liverpool and beat the Legends 3-0. Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Carlysle Ducey, Cazenovia field hockey. The Lakers earned its first win of the season September 9 edging Central Valley Academy 3-2 with Ducey netting all three of the goals for a hat trick. Potter and Perone Special Performance: Avery Howe, Fayetteville-Manlius girls swimming. Howe won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly and took part in two winning relays as the Hornets beat Syracuse City 149-132 on September 8. Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Zander Tardy, Mount Markham football. The Mustangs held off Hannibal 32-27 on September 11 with Tardy carrying the ball 37 times for 226 yards and a pair of touchdowns.Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Claire Dempsey, Fulton girls volleyball. Between her 24 assists, 13 digs and four aces Dempsey helped lead the Red Dragons to its first win of the season over Chittenango in four sets on September 8.

Prosser’s 23 kills in a single day helped the Lions win back-to-back September 12 matches against Canandaigua and Midlakes. Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Anthony Vinci, Rome Free Academy boys soccer. Vinci poured in all three of his team’s goals for a hat trick when the Black Knights shut out Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 3-0 on September 9. Top Notch Roofing Top Performer: Rhett Andrews, Cicero-North Syracuse boys cross country. Andrews led the Northstars to a team title in the September 12 Mustang Invitational at Mount Markham with an individual victory in 15 minutes 54.7 seconds. University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Grace Carguello, Pulaski girls cross country, finishing in 18 minutes 52.8 seconds to claim first place in the Varsity 2 race during the September 12 Mustang Invitational at Mount Markham. U.S. Army Hometown Hero: Noah Mudge, Morrisville-Eaton football. Mudge threw for 205 yards on just five completions, three of them for touchdowns, helpind the Mavericks shut out Dryden 54-0 on September 11.Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Maddux Schultz, South Jefferson boys golf. Schultz shot an under-par 34 for nine holes at Carlowden Golf Club on September 9 in the Spartans’ 184-197 victory over Carthage.
