APEX Amazing Athlete: Joe Gardner, East Syracuse Minoa boys volleyball. Gardner combined for 25 kills in back-to-back Spartans wins over Jamesville-DeWitt and Cicero-North Syracuse, each of the two defending Section III champions, in a 48-hour span starting on September 15.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Reese Kline, Homer girls soccer. The Trojans continued its strong September run shutting out Phoenix 6-0 on September 15 with Kline earning two goals and two assists. 

B&B Lumber Big Mover:  Maceo Lucidi, Watertown boys soccer. Lucidi’s pair of goals helped the Cyclones remained undefeated with its fifth straight win shutting out South Jefferson 5-0 on September 17.

Big 4 Tire Big Time Performance: Greta Kuhl, Beaver River girls cross country. With her individual victory in 19 minutes  7.1 seconds at the September 19 New Hartford Invitational Kuhl helped the Beaver achieve a sweep of the girls and boys team events.

Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: David Patrick, Camden football. Carrying the ball 22 times for 166 yards and scoring a pair of touchdowns, Patrick helped the Blue Devils defeat Jamesville-DeWitt 38-15 on September 18.

Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Mya Stafford, LaFayette girls volleyball. Even in a five-set defeat to Hamilton on September 17 Stafford had a standout effort finishing the match with 19 kills, 13 digs and five aces. 

F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Safya Bibbins, South Jefferson girls tennis. Bibbins rallied in three sets to beat Evangeline Camidge and by doing so helped the Spartans knock General Brown from the unbeaten ranks in a 3-2 decision on September 18. 

The Image Press Icon: Wyatt Perry, Chittenango boys golf. When the Bears completed a regular-season sweep of Cazeonvia in a 195-213 on September 16 Perry broke par at Cazenovia Country Club shooting a 33

Iron Horse Gutters Mark of Greatness: Casimir Smolnik, Central Square boys soccer. Smolnik turned back 14 of the 15 shots he faced carrying the Redhawks to a 2-1 victory over Fayetteville-Manlius on September 18.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Brayden Dems and Zaier Eschol, Cicero-North Syracuse football, connecting on a pair of 80-yard touchdown passes in the second and third quarters of the Northstars’ 34-7 victory over West Genesee on September 17

Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Anna Stacy, Watertown IHC girls soccer. Stacy picked up two goals and one assist as the Cavaliers moved to 4-1 on the season by defeating Thousand Islands 4-1 on September 18.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Bri Cooper, Baldwinsville girls swimming. The Bees rolled to a 121-59 victory over Christian Brothers Academy in its September 15 season opener with Copper at the forefront thanks to her wins in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle.

M. Lemp Jewelers Gem of the Week: Madelyn Drake, Nottingham girls volleyball. Drake’s combined 75 assists in three matches led to the Bulldogs defeating Oswego, Henninger and Indian River to double its previous win total and go to 6-0 overall. 

Nye Automotive Male Athlete of the Week: Ben Morford, Clinton boys cross country. During the September 19 New Hartford Invitational Morford made his way to first place in a field of more than 150 runners with a time of 15 minutes 48.3 seconds.

Nye Automotive Female Athlete of the Week: Mia Ponte, Central Valley Academy girls soccer. The Thunder won the Mount Markham Optimist Tournament on September 18 and 19 with Ponte netting six total goals in wins over Herkimer and Mount Markham.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Peyton Hoang, Oneida girls tennis, dominating Emily Stelhik in a 10-1 decision all part of the Express getting a 7-0 shutout of archrival Vernon-Verona-Sherrill on September 16.

Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Brodi Martin, Sandy Creek football. Picking up 11 tackles, Martin paced a Comets defense which kept Pulaski off the board in a 32-0 victory which moved Sandy Creek to 3-0 on the season.

Potter and Perone Special Performance: Sam Bono, Clinton boys soccer. An early-season showdown September 19 had the Comets roll past previously unbeaten Frankfort-Schuyler on September 19 with Bono setting the pace with his goal and three assists.

Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Colin Wallace, Oswego boys cross country. With his time of 16 minutes 16.8 seconds in the September 19 Mount Markam Invitational Wallace led all individual Section III runners and finished third overall. 

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Lena Qandah, New Hartford field hockey. Qandah had one goal and assisted on the other two which helped the Spartans pull away late and earn a 3-0 shuout ovr Holland Patent on September 18. 

Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Sawyer Bridger, Cooperstown football. Bridger caught six passes for 163 yards and two touchdowns as the Hawkeyes held off South Lewis 26-22 in a clash of two undefeated eight-man football sides on September 19. 

Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Lyla Kobasa, Onondaga girls volleyball. When the Tigers got its first match win of the season September 17 over Syracuse Academy of Science in three sets, Kobasa served up six aces, earned 14 assists and added 10 digs. 

Top Notch Roofing Top Performer: Gianni DeFrancesco, Liverpool boys volleyball. DeFrancesco’s 17 digs led a strong Legends defense as it put together a four-set victory over Fayetteville-Manlius on September 17.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Lili Santoro, Jamesville-DeWitt girls soccer, netting the second-half goal which allowed the Red Rams to knock off previously unbeaten Westhill on September 17.

U.S. Army Hometown Hero: Kooper Sears, McGraw boys soccer. The Eagles made it five win in a row shutting out Cincinntaus 5-0 on September 17 in large part due to the work of Sears who gained two goals and an assist.

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Sloane Sestito, Rome Free Academy field hockey. Sestito earned two of her team’s goals as the Black Knights earned a 4-0 shutout over Central Valley Academy on September 16.
