Awards for 4/8/2023

AFLAC Amazing Athlete: Aaron Trendell, Solvay baseball. With three hits and three RBIs, Trendell helped the Bearcats move to 2-0 on the season April 5 with a 14-8 victory over Marcellus.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Branden McColm, Cazenovia boys track and field. McColm won at 800 meters and second at 3,200 meters to help the Lakers take the team title April 4 in the Tully Spring Break Invitational.

Empower Federal Credit Union Rewarding Effort: Gianna Parise, Whitesboro girls lacrosse. Parise landed four goals that helped the Warriors win its third straight game and top East Syracuse Minoa 10-6 on April 6.

Ethan Allen Award of Excellence: Tyler Hale, Syracuse lacrosse. When Syracuse roared past Utica Proctor 20-4 on April 4 to stay unbeaten, Hale was quite productive with four goals and four assists.

Fitness Forum/Ultimate Goal/Sports 481 Fabulous Effort: Bailey Gleasman, Adirondack baseball. Gleasman’s single, double, two RBIs and 3 1/3 innings pitched helped the Wildcats defeat Westmoreland 4-3 on April 3.

Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Outstanding Athlete: Eloise Freeth, Hamilton softball. Not allowing a hit, Freeth pitched the Emerald Knights to a 17-2 win over Waterville on April 4.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Jennah Netto, Watertown IHC girls lacrosse. The Cavaliers defeated General Brown 12-10 on April 3 as Netto set the pace with four goals and one assist.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Bella Hotchkiss, Baldwinsville softball. Hotchkiss pitched well as the Bees won back-to-back games at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to open its 2023 season.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Allie Cary, Liverpool girls track and field. Cary pulled off a clean sweep of the shot put and discus during the April 5 Westhill Spring Break Invitational.

Revitalize! CNY Rewarding Performance: Riley Lomber, General Brown softball. The Lions outscored Watertown 15-12 on April 5 helped in no small part by Lomber hitting a home run, getting three other singles and finishing with four RBIs.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: John Angelicola, Fayetteville-Manlius boys lacrosse. The Hornets went to 2-0 on April 6, beating Pittsford 14-9 led by Angelicola’s team-best five goals.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Dom Rinaldo, Jordan-Elbridge baseball, hitting a three-run walk-off home run to defeat Onondaga 12-9 on April 3.

Upstate Urology Upstart: Lilly Marquardt, Skaneateles girls lacrosse. The Lakers defeated Honeoye Falls-Lima 14-8 on April 7, getting away in the second half as Marquardt earned three goals and two assists.

U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Brenna Hogan, Cortland softball. Throwing a complete game with 13 strikeouts and adding an RBI, Hogan helped the Purple Tigers edge Homer 4-3 on April 5.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Colin Hart, Herkimer baseball. With three singles, a double and four RBIs, Hart helped guide the Magicians past Sauquoit Valley 12-9 on April 5.

Zero Draft Defensive Standout: Connor Leone, South Jefferson boys lacrosse. Each of Leone’s 11 saves helped the Spartans claimed an 8-7 decision over Carthage on April 5.
