AFLAC Amazing Athlete: Colton Suriano, New Hartford boys basketball. Helped by Suriano’s 10 points and nine rebounds, the Spartans worked past Troy 69-60 in the Class A regional playoffs on March 8.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Alex Whitlock, Skaneateles boys ice hockey. Whitlock’s two goals and one assist highlighted the Lakers’ 4-1 win over Pelham on March 12 that clinched the state Division I championship.

Empower Federal Credit Union Rewarding Effort: Kendall Mack, Cortland girls basketball. Mack’s 21 points helped the Purple Tigers rally past Newark Valley 46-41 in the March 11 Class B regional final.

Ethan Allen Award of Excellence: Omar Robinson, Westhill boys basketball. Putting up 18 points in the first three quarters, Robinson led the Warriors past Owego 73-38 in the Class B regional final on March 11

Fitness Forum/Ultimate Goal/Sports 481 Fabulous Effort: Eliana Occhino, CBA girls bowling. With her six-game series of 1,364, Occhino earned the individual championship during the NYPHSAA tournament March 11 at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.

Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Outstanding Athlete: Timothy Rankins, Dolgeville boys basketball. Rankins, with 11 points, was the only Blue Devil in double figures in a 58-38 loss to Moravia in the Class C regional final on March 11.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major PerformanceA: Kaylyn Sweeney, Liverpool girls basketball. Sweeney had five of her nine points in the late going to push the Warriors past Albany 56-51 in the March 11 Class AA regional final.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Hudson Idzi, Hamilton boys basketball. The Emerald Knights handled Heuvelton 53-34 in the Class D regional final led by Idzi’s effort of 17 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Will Schneid, West Genesee ice hockey. Schneid’s three-goal hat trick helped the Wildcats handle Suffern 6-0 and win the state Division I championship March 12.

Revitalize! CNY Rewarding Performance: Koen Turner, Camden boys bowling. With his six-game total of 1,363, Turner finished second among individuals in the March 12 NYPSHSAA Division II tournament at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Danielle Seamon, Cooperstown girls basketball. Though the Hawkeyes lost 60-47 to Union Springs in the March 11 Class C regional final Seamon had 25 points.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Baldwinsville girls bowling winning the state Division I championship March 10 at Strike-N-Spare Lanes, edging second-place Longwood by 29 pins.

Upstate Urology Upstart: Allison LaMora, Indian River girls basketball. LaMora’s 11 rebounds and four blocks helped the Warriors beat Franklin Academy 46-30 in the Class A regional playoffs on March 8.

U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Jason Lawler, Liverpool boys basketball. With his 10 points including a pair of 3-pointers, Lawler helped the Warriors past Green Tech 65-49 in the Class AA regional final on March 11.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Nick Bennett, New Hartford boys bowling. Bennett’s six-game total of 1,337 was fourth among individuals and led the Spartans to a third-place finish in the March 10 NYSPHSAA Division I tournament.

Zero Draft Defensive Standout: Sydney Tabor, Poland girls basketball. Tabor’s nine rebounds and five blocks, along with 11 points, helped the Emerald Knights rally past Poland 50-45 for the Section III Class D championship.
