Awards for 9/20/2025

APEX Amazing Athlete: Harper Camp, Marcellus girls volleyball. With 17 kill and 15 digs, Camp helped the Mustangs hand reigning sectional Class B champion Westhill its first defeat of the season in five sets on September 19.

Atlas Fence All-Star: Pablo Joseph, Corcroan football. The Cougars stayed unbeaten and topped Fayetteville-Manlius 33-18 on September 19 as Joseph scored four touchdowns while gaining 173 yards on 20 carries.

Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Katelyn Schick, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown girls soccer. With her two goals and two assists Schick led the way as the Rebels roared to a 6-1 victory over Oswego on September 16.

CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Collin Fitzgerald, Mexico boys cross country. Fitzgerald’s seventh-place finish helped lead the Tigers to the Small School division team title during the September 20 Baldwinsville Invitational.
 
Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Lilliana Joy Romar, Carthage girls swimming. When the Watertown Invitational took place on September 20 Romar earned first-place finishes in both the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.

The Image Press Icon: Ben Resig, Fayetteville-Manlius boys volleyball. Resig picked up 15 kills, added nine digs and got two blocks to help the Hornets outlast Fayetteville-Manlius in a five-set classic on September 15.

Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Matt Henesey, Westhill boys golf, shooting a 47 at Camillus Golf Club as the tiebreaker to help the Wolf Pack defeat Christian Brothers Academy on September 18 and end the Brothers’ 26-match win streak.
 
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Ali Karim, Solvay boys soccer. When the Bearcats defeated Mexico 5-2 on September 17 Karim carried his team’s attack most of the way, finishing the night with four goals.
 
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Kali Zydzik, Vernon-Verona Sherrill field hockey. Zydzik put up two goals and an assist which helped the Red Devils knock Camden from the unbeaten ranks in a 6-1 decision on September 19.
 
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Paige Pinkley, Phoenix girls scoccer. Pinkley’s first-half goal held up the rest of the way as the Firebirds edged previously unbeaten Cazenovia 1-0 on September 17.

Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Trevor Moon, Weedsport football. The Wolverines beat Phoenix 29-28 a week after having to forfeit a game due to a lack of healthy players as Moon keyed the effort scoring three of his team’s four touchdowns.

Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Ellie Roberts, South Jefferson girls cross country. The Spartans won the Small School division at the September 20 Baldwinsville Invitational led by Roberts with her second-place individual finish in a time of 18 minutes 43 seconds.

O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Niyonzima Byirginro, PSLA-Fowler boys soccer, netting a goal in the first half which proved the difference-maker for the Falcons as it defeated Henninger 1-0 on September 15.
 
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Norah Beier, Syracuse girls swimming. Syracuse’s 95-77 victory over Cicero-North Syracuse on September 16 included Beier gaining first-place finishes in both the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events.
 
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Jocelyn Turshman, Cincinnatus girls soccer. Helped by Turshman getting a three-goal hat trick plus an assist, the Lions roared to a 9-0 shutout of McGraw on September 20.

Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Khariana Carpenter, Watertown girls tennis. Carpenter’s three-set victory over Jada Zehr in second singles made the difference as the Cyclones defeated Carthage 3-2 on September 16.

Rockbridge Management Investment Risk Taker: Madison Scranton, New Hartford gymnastics. With her 36.95 all-around points Scranton led all individuals as the Spartans held off Jamesville-DeWitt/F-M 142.05-139.95 in their September 17 showdown.
 
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Leila Selimovic, West Canada Valley girls soccer. When West Canada gave Utica Academy of Science its first defeat of the season 5-0 on September 19 Selimovic put together a three-goal hat trick.
 
Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Chayse Ostrander, Chittenango football. Ostrander set a career mark by gaining 301 rushing yards on just 16 carries and accumulating four touchdowns in the Bears’ 56-6 victory over Cortland on September 19.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Stellar Athlete: Mia Farone, Cicero-North Syracuse field hockey. With her two goals and one assist Farone helped carry the Northstars to a 3-0 victory over Baldwinsville on September 17.

Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Brady Anderson, Westmoreland/Oriskany boys soccer. A three-goal hat trick from Anderson was the key for Westmoreland/Oriskany handling Mount Markham 6-0 on September 18 to stay undefeated.

University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Myah Keenan, Fabius-Pompey girls cross country, taking the individual Small School championship in the September 20 Baldwinsville Invitational winning in a time of 18 minutes 30.9 seconds.

Wilkins RV Winning Player: Tate Mullin, Jamesville-DeWitt boys golf. Shooting an even-par 36 Mullin helped the Red Rams maintain its perfect mark in SCAC Empire division matches on September 16 at Highland Golf Course.

Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Logan Ames, Hannibal football. Ames put up four touchdowns – three on receptions, the other on a run – carrying Hannibal to a 39-26 victory over Onondaga on September 20.
