Atlas Fence All-Star: Xavier Pawlowski, Whitesboro boys track and field. During the May 29 Section III Class A-1 championships Pawlowski swept to first-place finishes in the 100, 200 and 400-meter sprints and helped Whitesboro win the team title, too.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Julianna Gingrich, Baldwinsville softball. Gingrich drove in both of her team’s runs in the third and fifth innings and helped the Bees upend top seed Cicero-North Syracuse 2-1 in the May 29 Section III Class AAA semifinal game.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Winning Achievement: Chloe Tice, Cicero-North Syracuse girls golf. Tice shot a 78 at Cedar Lake Club in Clayville to win medalist honors in the May 29 Section III state qualifier and earn her fourth trip to the NYSPHSAA tournament.
The Image Press Icon: Will Piccola, New Hartford boys lacrosse. Even though the Spartans lost its Section III Class C semifinal 7-3 to Homer, Piccola had a sensational game in goal, stopping 21 of the Trojans’ 28 shots he faced.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Kara Rosenberger, Westhill girls lacrosse, netting four straight goals in the third quarter and six overall keying the Warriors’ 10-9 victory over Skaneateles in the May 29 Section III Class D semifinals.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Susie Pittman, Cazenovia girls track and field. Victorious in the pole vault clearing 11 feet and the triple jump with 36’2 1/4″, Pittman led the Lakers to the Section III Class B-2 championship on May 28 at Sherburne-Earlville.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Foster Eaton, McGraw baseball. The Eagles pounded Stockbridge Valley 17-4 in the Section III Class D semifinal on May 31 as Eaton’s pair of hits led to a team-best four RBIs.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Tyler Graham, Cicero-North Syracuse boys track and field. Graham’s victory in the 800-meter run and help in the 4×400 relay helped the Northstars to the team title in the May 28 Section III Class AA championships.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Maeve Mackenzie, Christian Brothers Academy girls lacrosse. Mackenzie had five goals and five assists to hit double digits in points as the Brothers put away Fulton 19-11 in the May 29 Section III Class C semifinal.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Emma Lindstrom, Camden softball. It was Lindstrom’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth inning which scored the tying and go-ahead runs in the Blue Devils’ 6-5 win over Jamesville-DeWitt in the May 27 Section III Class A semifinals.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Fayetteville-Manlius flag football recording a safety against Albany High late in the second half for the decisive points in the Hornets’ 21-19 victory in the Class A regional finals on May 31.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Luke Logan, Skaneateles boys lacrosse. Logan was a difference-maker for the Lakers in its 12-9 win over General Brown in the May 31 Section III Class D semifinals, stopping 18 of the 27 shots the Lions took at him.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Grace Carguello, Pulaski girls track and field. Carguello was victorious in both the 1,500-meter run and 2,000-meter steeplehcase helping the Blue Devils win the Section III Class C-1 championship on May 31.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Josh Caruso, Utica Notre Dame baseball. The Jugglers stunned top seed Beaver River 6-5 in the May 29 Section III Class C quarterfinals as Caruso picked up a home run and single and drove in three runs.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Ean Piaschyk, Remsen boys track and field. During the May 30 Section III Class D championships Piaschyk managed an impressive double winning the 3,200-meter run and 3,000 steeplechase and helping the Rams to the team title.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Kaylee French, Oneida flag football. French’s pair of touchdowns helped the Express roar past Central Square 34-6 and win the Section III Class B championship on May 27.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Hamilton softball defeating Sackets Harbor 17-0 on May 30 in the Section III Class D semifinals just two days after the sudden passing of one of its players, freshman Isadora Catania.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Anoveah Housley, PSLA Fowler girls track and field. Housley won the long jump and triple jump and was second in the 100-meter dash during the May 29 Section III Class A-1 championships.
