Atlas Fence All-Star: A’briyah Cunningham, Liverpool girls basketball. When the Warriors defeated Syosset 65-56 in the state Class AAA semifinal March 22 at Hudson Valley CC in Troy Cunningham led the way with 25 points and 13 rebounds.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Eli Prince, Westhill boys basketball. A superb junior season for Prince concluded with a team-high 19 points when the Warriors fell to Glens Falls 66-49 in the March 15 Class A regional final.
The Image Press Icon: Luke Beck, West Genesee ice hockey. As goaltender, Beck led the Wildcats to the state Division I championship game and won a school-record 66 games in his career, all after a diagnosis of cystic fibrosis.
JKS Roofing High Achiever: Sicily Shaffer, Bishop Grimes girls basketball. In the Cobras’ 53-45 defeat to Voorheesville in the Class B regional final March 15 Shaffer carried the offense most of the way and finished with 26 points.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Andrew Juliano, Holland Patent wrestling, beating Haverling’s Lukas Mills-Travis 6-3 in the 108-pound semifinals of the state Division II wrestling championships March 1 in Albany.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Carmen Youngs, West Canada Valley girls bowling. Youngs finished third among individuals with a 1,214 series during the NYSPHSAA Division II championships March 16 at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Lanie Nielen, Cooperstown girls basketabll. Nielen led the Hawkeyes with 13 points and three rebounds in a 59-37 defeat to Stillwater in the March 20 state Class C semifinal in Troy.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Madison Scranton, New Hartford gymnastics. Scranton finished fifth in the all-around standings with 37.825 points during the March 1 NYSPHSAA championships in suburban Buffalo.
North Syracuse Lawn and Snow Notable Effort: Miles Nielen, Cooperstown boys basketball. Though the Hawkeyes lost 55-48 to Moravia in the Class C regional final March 16 Nielen had a fine performance with 15 points and five rebounds.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Brock Frederick, South Jefferson wrestling. Frederick made it all the way to the championship match at 124 pounds in the state Division II championships February 28 and March 1 in Albany.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Emeline Barton, LaFargeville girls basketball, sinking a layup with 32.8 seconds left to help clinch the Red Knights’ 43-37 win over Northville in the March 21 state Class D championship game.
110 Grill Award of Excellence: Jackson Ruane, Waterville boys basketball. When Waterville lost the Section III Class C final 76-68 to Cooperstown on March 8 Ruane had a sensational effort earning 28 points.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Ethan Crouse, Beaver River boys bowling. Crouse picked up a 276 game and a 1,334 series, fifth among individuals, during the NYSPHSAA Division II team tournament March 16 at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Luke Bobbett, Skaneateles boys ice hockey. The Lakers beat Ogdensburg 3-0 on March 16 for its third consecutive state Division II championship in Buffalo as Bobbett paced the attack notching a pair of assists.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Jah’nae Stevens, Nottingham girls basketball. Stevens finished with 11 points as the Bulldogs’ remarkable season concluded with a 66-37 defeat to Catholic Central in the March 15 Class AA regional final.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Dylan Aubert, Sackets Harbor boys basketball. The Patriots defeated Morris 71-44 in the Class D regional final on March 16 as Aubert produced 18 points to help pace the offense.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: J.J. Starling, the former Baldwinsville basketball star who led Syracuse University men’s basketball in scoring last season, announced he is returning to the Orange for the 2025-26 season.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Bryce Dadey, Jamesville-DeWitt/CBA wrestling. Dadey recorded a third-place finish at 215 pounds during the NYSPHSAA Division I championships February 28 and March 1 in Albany.
