AFLAC Amazing Athlete: Isiah Czarnecki, Utica-Notre Dame football. Czarnecki ran for 198 yards and four touchdowns as the Jugglers outscored the Adirondack Wildcats 61-32 on October 13.

Crouse Hospital Clutch Performance: Katerina Atallah, Fayetteville-Manlius girls tennis, rallying to beat CBA’s Gieselle Vlassis in three sets to take the Section III state qualifying tournament October 18 at Drumlins.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Sydney DeLapp, Oswego girls swimming. In the October 20 SCAC championships at Nottingham, DeLapp won the 100-yard freestyle and was second in the 100-yard backstroke.

NAPA Prime Performer: Jake Zona, Liverpool boys soccer. Zona’s three-goal hat trick pushed the Warriors past West Genesee 4-0 on October 18 in the Section III Class AA quarterfinals.

Sam’s Auto Body Sensational Star: Andrew Hyde, Fulton boys cross country.
Hyde’s third-place finish helped the Red Raiders to second overall in the team standings in the October 13 Auburn Invitational.

Sport Center 481 Driving Force: Zach Gifford, Frankfort-Schuyler football. Gifford ran for 116 yards and two touchdown as the Maroon Knights clinched Class D East on October 12, beating Sauquoit Valley 29-22.

Summitcars.com Coach of the Week: Shannon McPheron, Camden field hockey. McPheron’s Blue Devils again had a superb regular season, going 13-2 and earning the top seed in the Section III Class C playoffs.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete
: Brandon Martin, Central Square boys cross country. Martin was the top individual as the Redhawks earned the team title at the October 17 SCAC Empire division championship.

Syracuse Pool and Patio Pivotal Play of the Week: Emma Holzwarth, Marcellus girls soccer, scoring in the first overtime period to beat Solvay 1-0 in the October 18 opening round of the Section III Class B playoffs.

Upstate Medical University Magic Moment: Mia DiVeronica, Canastota field hockey, scoring in the second overtime to push the Raiders past Port Byron/Union Springs 1-0 in the Section III Class C playoffs on October 16.

U.S. Army Male Athlete: Tre’ Coney, General Brown football. As the Lions beat Lowville 24-12 to finish atop Class C West on October 12, Coney paced the ground attack with 16 carries for 115 yards.

U.S. Army Female Athlete: Anna Beach, Waterville girls soccer. Beach piled up four goal and one assist, all of which helped the Indians beat Bishop Grimes 9-1 October 18 in the first round of the Section III Class C playoffs.

Wegmans Winning Player: Bethany Miller, LaFayette girls volleyball. The Lancers pulled out a five-set victory over Bishop Ludden on October 17 as Miller amassed 29 assists, 16 digs and seven aces.
