Atlas Fence All-Star: Peyton Bond, Oswego girls basketball. The Buccaneers topped Nottingham 42-37 on March 6 for the Section III Class AA championship on March 6 carried there by Bond with her 27 points and nine rebounds.
B&B Lumber Big Mover: Logan Ames, Fulton boys swimming. Ames registered a sixth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 20.74 seconds during the March 6-7 NYSPHSAA championships at Ithaca College.
Byrne Dairy Prime Performer: Nikita Domashenko, Fayetteville-Manlius boys indoor track and field finish. Getting to the podium in the March 6 NYSPHSAA championships on Staten Island, Domashenko finished third in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.39 seconds.
Clifton Recycling Rewarding Effort: Isabella Cunningham, Rome Free Academy girls basketball. With 17 rebounds to go with 12 points Cunningham helped the Black Knights beat top seed Bishop Ludden-Grimes 64-51 in the March 3 Section III Class AAA quarterfinals.
CNY Softwash & Pressure Washing Superstar: Anna Eells, Cicero-North Syracuse girls indoor track and field. Eells repeated as state champion in the triple jump with 39 feet 6 1/2 inches during the March 6 NYSPHSAA championships on Staten Island.
Fire Brothers Red-Hot Performance: Ezra Wilson-Hefti, East Syracuse Minoa boys basketball. Wilson-Hefti’s tying basket with 20 seconds left forced regulation and eventually helped the Spartans edge Henninger 68-63 in overtime in the March 2 Section III Class AA semifinal.
F.W. Webb Winning Effort: Brielle TenEyck, Copenhagen girls basketball. TenEyck gained 13 rebounds and five steals to lead the Gold Knights defense as it topped Sackets Harbor 28-25 in the March 2 Section III Class D semifinal.
The Image Press Icon: Joey DiNatale, Cazenovia ice hockey. DiNatale’s pair of goals late in the third period helped the Lakers nearly rally in the March 2 Section III Division I final against West Genesee though the Wildcats eventually prevailed 3-2.
Little York Plantation Play of the Week: Alex Trombley, Liverpool boys basketball, hitting a 3-point shot in the final minutes of regulation to get the Legends to overtime with Cicero-North Syracuse in the March 4 Section III Class AAA semifinal and eventually win 51-48.
Mabey’s Moving and Storage Major Mover: Aubrey Greene, Central Square girls indoor track and field. Greene cleared 10 feet 6 inches in the pole vault for a top-10 finish in the March 7 NYSPHSAA championships on Staten Island.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Lesha Kabunov, Jamesville-DeWitt/CBA boys swimming. Kabunov broke two program records in the 100-yard butterfly on his way to a sixth-place finish in the March 7 NYSPHSAA championships at Ithaca College.
M. Lemp Jewelers Rewarding Effort: Tyler Tamburino, Oriskany boys basketball. Stepping up with 16 points and three steals, Tamburino helped Oriskany beat Madison 72-63 in the March 4 Section III Class D semifinals.
Mooney Marketing Group/Bristol 7 Enterprises Major Performance: Pyper McEwan, Hamilton girls basketball. The Emerald Knights beat Frankfort-Schuyler 60-37 in the March 3 Section III Class D semifinal as McEwan earning 14 points and six rebounds.
Nye Automotive Mark of Excellence: Morgan Devine, Jamesville-DeWitt/F-M gymnastics. Devine’s score of 9.700 in the vault gave her a second-place finish during the February 28 NYSPHSAA championship at Valley Gymnastics in Utica.
O’Hara Electric Electrifying Play: Cam Davis, Baldwinsville boys indoor track and field, breaking his own school record in the weight throw going 62 feet 9 inches to take eighth place in the March 7 NYSPHSAA championships on Staten Island.
Onondaga Flooring Outstanding Achievement: Bol Garang, Nottingham boys basketball. Garang’s 27 points propelled the Bulldogs past East Syracuse Minoa 57-49 on March 6 at SRC Arena to win the Section III Class AA championship.
Potter and Perone Special Performance: Chloe Gafford, LaFargeville girls basketball. The Red Knights edged Copenhagen 49-45 on March 7 at SRC Arena to win the Section III Class D championship as Gafford contributed 17 points and seven rebounds.
Premier Hardwood Premier Player: Michelle Ifeonu, Fayetteville-Manlius girls indoor track and field. A weight throw of 47 feet 4 inches put Ifeonu in seventh place during the March 6-7 NYSPHSAA championships on Staten Island.
Purcell Paints Prime Performer: Andrew Sfeir, Whitesboro ice hockey. After not scoring a goal all season, Sfeir netted the game-winner late in the third period to help his team edge Skaneateles 5-4 on March 2 and claim the Section III Division II championship.
Rockbridge Investment Management Risk Taker: Erin Trinkaus, Utica Notre Dame girls basketball. Trinkaus scored all 12 of her points in the second half to go with nine rebounds helping the Jugglers top CBA 53-29 on March 7 to win the Section III Class A championship.
Senke CNY Garage Door Sensational Star: Colton McDonald and Logan Kennedy, Skaneateles ice hockey. The pair of goaltenders combined for 33 saves in the Lakers’ 5-4 defeat to Whitesboro in the March 2 Section III Division II championship game.
Sierson Crane and Welding Superstar: Owen Gasper, Auburn boys indoor track and field. Gasper tore his way to a third-place finish in the 1,600-meter run in four minutes 12.65 seconds during the March 7 NYSPHSAA and Federation championships on Staten Island.
Top Notch Roofing Top Star: Madison Scranton, New Hartford gymnastics. Scranton was fifth in the all-around competition and third on the uneven bars during the February 28 NYSPHSAA championships in Utica.
University Sports Shop/Manny’s Major Moment: Matt Schneid, West Genesee ice hockey, scoring the goal late in the first overtime period to push the Wildcats past Hilton 3-2 in the Division I regional final on March 7.
U.S. Army Athlete of the Week: Winston Jones, Bishop Ludden-Grimes boys basketball. Jones’ double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds helped the Gaelic Knights handle Rome Free Academy 83-62 in the March 4 Section III Class AAA semifinals.
Wilkins RV Winning Player: Aaliyah Zachery, Baldwinsville girls basketball. The Bees topped Cicero-North Syracuse 56-41 in the March 3 Section III Class AAA semifinal led by Zachery earning 15 points and seven rebounds.
Wonder Windows Winning Performance: Joe Lisi, Liverpool boys swimming. After a torn ACL and MCL forced him to miss last season Lisi came back this winter and finished fourth in the 100 backstroke during the March 6-7 NYSPHSAA championships at Ithaca College.
