AFLAC Amazing Athlete: Gene Edwards, Central Valley wrestling. Edwards pinned Elmira’s Max Collins in 28 seconds to earn the 110-pound championship during the December 4 Larry Goodrich Invitational at Newark Valley.


The Amish Group Master Builder: Luke Paragon, Cicero-North Syracuse boys basketball. Amassing 34 points and 13 rebounds, Paragon powered the Northstars past the Rome Free Academy Black Knights 89-64 on December 7.


Atlas Fence All-Star: Ethan Schmitt, Oneida boys swimming. The Indians defeated the Utica Proctor Raiders 99-69 on December 6 as Schmitt swam his way to first-place finishes in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle.


E.J. Electric Electrifying Performance: Tayajah Scott, Henninger girls basketball. Scott finished with 21 points to help the Black Knights handle the East Syracuse Minoa Spartans 55-32 on December 10.


Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Male Athlete of the Week: Eric Barski, Baldwinsville boys bowling. The Bees defeated the Fulton Red Raiders 2-1 on December 7 as Barski shot a 720 series with games of 248, 258 and 217.


Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Female Athlete of the Week: Catherine Apker, Homer girls basketball. Putting up 21 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, Apker all but carried the Trojans past the Cortland Purple Tigers 38-36 on December 4.


Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Ella Dolce, Central Square girls indoor track and field. It was Dolce clearing 12 feet 6 inches to emerge victorious in the pole vault during the December 8 Oscar B. Jensen Holiday Relays at SRC Arena.


Nagle Turf Winning Moment: Joe Dunham, Bishop Ludden boys basketball, hitting two free throws in the final seconds that gave the Gaelic Knights a 55-51 victory over the Baldwinsville Bees December 10 at SRC Arena.


Purcell Paints Hometown Hockey Hero: Christian Testa, Auburn ice hockey. Testa picked up a three-goal hat trick, propelling the Maroons to a 5-0 shutout of the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets at State Fair Coliseum.


Shute’s Water Systems Star Performance: Cain Roberts, Watertown wrestling. At the December 4 Andersen Tournament at Cicero-North Syracuse, Roberts earned the 215-pound championship when he defeated Windsor’s Garrett Bidwell in a 4-1 decision.


Syracuse Fitness Store Standout: Rosalie Vincent, Bishop Grimes girls basketball. Vincent picked up 26 points, eight rebounds and three assists to helped the Cobras get a 69-56 victory over the West Genesee Wildcats on December 7.


Syracuse Orthopedic Surgeons Student-Athlete: Donelius King, Utica Academy of Science boys basketball. King amassed 31 points and the Atoms earned a victory over its counterparts from Syracuse Academy of Science 67-61 on December 4.


Syracuse Sauna King Superstar: Anna Campbell, Canastota girls volleyball. Campbell helped the Raiders stay undefeated and knock off the Westmoreland Bulldogs in four sets on December 8 by picking up 29 assists.


U.S. Army Male Athlete: Peter McCaffrey, Marcellus boys indoor track and field. When the Mustangs won the Oscar B. Jensen Holiday Relays December 9 at SRC Arena, McCaffrey won the long jump and was fourth in the high jump.


U.S. Army Female Athlete: Elianna Occhino, Christian Brothers Academy girls bowling. Occhino, an eighth-grader, shot a 300 game and 786 series as the Brothers shut out the Bishop Grimes Cobras 7-0 on December 9 at Strike-N-Spare Lanes.


Zero Draft Defensive Standout: Riley Delage, Cortland-Homer ice hockey. Delage turned away all 16 shots he faced when the Golden Eagles defeated the New Hartford Spartans 3-0 on December 7.
