Atlas Fence All-Star: Sydney Sachel, Fulton girls volleyball. Putting up 27 assists, seven digs and three kills, Sachel led the Red Raiders to a three-set sweep of Cortland in the November 3 Section III Class A semifinal.
E.J. Electric Electrifying Performance: Maddox Brown, Sandy Creek football. Brown ran for 155 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Comets put away Waterville 41-7 in the October 30 opening round of the Section III Class D playoffs.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Male Athlete of the Week: Kyle Moyer, Belleville-Henderson boys socccer. Helped by Moyer’s three-goal hat trick, the Rams defeated Cincinnatus 4-3 on November 2 and won the Section III Class D championship.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Female Athlete of the Week: Layla Isaacs, LaFayette girls volleyball. The Lancers beat Bishop Grimes in four sets in the Section III Class D semifinal on November 2 as Isaacs put away 21 kills.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Sam Mellinger, Baldwinsville football. With Mellinger’s career-best 249 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns, the Bees beat Corcoran 35-20 in the Section III Class AA semifinals on November 5.
Nagle Turf Winning Moment: Haley Dimao, Canastota field hockey, netting the only goal that helped the Raiders defeat Little Falls 1-0 and win the Section III Class C/D state qualifying game on November 3.
Shute’s Water Systems Star Performance: Luke Renaud, Skaneateles boys soccer. Stopping all eight shots he faced, Renaud helped push Skaneateles past Cazenovia 2-0 on November 1 to earn the Section III Class B championship.
Syracuse Fitness Store Standout: Luke McQuaid, Jamesville-DeWitt boys volleyball. The Red Rams defeated Oswego in three sets in the Section III Class A semifinal on November 4 as McQuaid set the tone with his nine aces.
Syracuse Orthopedic Surgeons Student-Athlete: Colby Diamond, Cooperstown boys soccer. With Diamond’s two goals and one assist, the Hawkeyes upended Fabius-Pompey 3-1 and won the Section III Class C championship on November 2.
Syracuse Sauna King Superstar: Sydney Huhtala, Baldwinsville field hockey. Netting all three of her team’s goals, Huhtala led the Bees to a 3-0 win over Cicero-North Syracuse and the Section III Class AA championship on October 31.
U.S. Army Male Athlete: Gabe Lynch, Indian River football. The Warriors beat West Genesee 30-8 in the Section III Class A semifinal on November 5, Lynch running 22 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns.
U.S. Army Female Athlete: Caroline Sekula, New Hartford girls soccer. Sekula earned a pair of goals as New Hartford beat East Syracuse Minoa 5-3 on October 29 for the Section III Class A championship.
ZeroDraft Insulation Defensive Standout: Maddy Manz, Cicero-North Syracuse girls volleyball. When the Northstars stunned top seed Baldwinsville in the Section III Class AA semifinal on November 2, Manz picked up 13 digs.
