The Amish Group Master Builder: Sydney DeLapp, Oswego girls swimming. DeLapp won the 50 and 100 freestyle and helped two different Buccaneers relay teams prevail, too, during the November 4 Section III Class B championships at Nottingham.
Atlas Fence All-Star: Logan Cookinham, Poland girls soccer. When the Tornadoes put away Chateaugay 7-0 in the state Class D semifinal on November 12, Cookinham put together a three-goal hat trick.
E.J. Electric Electrifying Performance: Elizabeth Lucason, Camden girls cross country. With her time of 19 minutes, 19.8 seconds, Lucason pulled away from the field to take the Section III Class B championship on November 6 at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Male Athlete of the Week: Brayden Shepardson, West Canada football. It was Shepardson’s fourth-quarter touchdown that proved the game-winner as the Indians edged Morrisville-Eaton 38-36 in the Section III eight-man championship game November 12.
Holbrook Heating and Air Conditioning Female Athlete of the Week: Jenna Mattison, Marcellus girls volleyball. Mattison’s totals of 52 assists and 31 digs helped the Mustangs rallied from two sets down to beat Wayne in five sets in the November 13 Class B regional final.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Sophia Soprano, Skaneateles girls swimming. The Lakers won another Section III Class C championship on November 4 helped by Soprano’s first-place finishes in the 200 and 500 freestyle.
Nagle Turf Winning Moment: Peter McMahon, West Genesee boys cross country, taking the individual Section III Class A championship November 12 by posting a time of 16 minutes, 21.1 seconds at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill.
Shute’s Water Systems Star Performance: Michael Blaskey, Dolgeville football. When the Blue Devils defeated Adirondack 20-6 to win the Section III Class D championship on November 12, Blaskey led the defense with 11 tackles.
Syracuse Fitness Store Standout: Grayson Brunelle, Skaneateles football. With Brunelle rushing for 137 yards on 25 carries and three touchdowns, the Lakers topped General Brown 35-14 for the Section III Class C championship on November 13.
Syracuse Orthopedic Surgeons Student-Athlete: Keegan Bauer, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill boys cross country. The Red Devils won the Section III Class C championship on its home course November 6 as Bauer led his side with a third-place time of 18:15.5.
Syracuse Sauna King Superstar: Emma Luttrell, Fayetteville-Manlius girls swimming. Luttrell’s first-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly helped the Hornets dominate the November 4 Section III Class A championships.
U.S. Army Male Athlete: Riddick Robinson, Living Word Academy boys volleyball. Robinson had 17 kills to lead the Lions to a three-set victory over Eastchester in the November 12 Division II regional playoffs.
U.S. Army Female Athlete: Lexi Bernard, South Lewis girls cross country. Not only did Bernard claim the individual Section III Class D championship November 6 in a time of 19:35.5, she helped the Falcons earn the team title as well.
Zero Draft Defensive Standout: Savannah Cole, New Hartford girls soccer. Cole needed every one of her 16 saves to help the Spartans defeat South Side 2-1 on November 14 and complete an undefeated run to the state Class A championship.
