AFLAC Amazing Athlete: Hunter Morgan, Weedsport football. Morgan had a 60-yard touchdown run and a 33-yard touchdown reception as part of the Warriors’ 68-44 victory over West Canada Valley in the Section III Eight-Man championship game at the Carrier Dome.

Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Tasean Cooper, Utica Proctor football. During the Raiders’ 55-14 victory over Baldwinsville in the Section III Class AA semifinals, Cooper amassed 222 yards on the ground and scored touchdowns of 25, 52 and 59 yards.

Sam’s Auto Body Sensational Athlete: Jordan Clark, Oneida football. It was Clark’s pair of returns for touchdowns in the fourth quarter – one on a kick, another on a punt – that pushed the Indians past Marcellus 41-34 in the Section III Class B semifinals.

Sport Center 481 Driving Force: Chad Bach, Lowville football. Bach’s 122 passing yards and 207 rushing yards set the tone for the Red Raiders in a 44-14 romp over General Brown that was the first big win in Lowville’s eventual Section III Class C championship run.

Summitcars.com Coach of the Week: Dave Kline, Cicero-North Syracuse football. Despite a 4-3 regular season, Kline led the Northstars to three straight come-from-behind wins that netted a third consecutive Section III and regional Class AA championships.

Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Troy Churney, Auburn football. Churney needed every bit of his 246 yards and seven touchdowns to help the Maroons claim a 61-59 victory over Indian River in the Section III Class A semifinals.

Upstate Medical University Magic Moment: Josh Demko, Carthage football, returning the opening kickoff 72 yards for a touchdown to kick-start the Comets toward its 55-7 victory over the Auburn Maroons in the Section III Class AA championship game.

U.S. Army Male Athlete: Blaine Franklin, Solvay football. With Franklin accumulating 16 tackles, Franklin led the Bearcats’ defense as it held Oneida to a single touchdown in a 14-7 decision during the Section III Class B championship game at the Carrier Dome.

U.S. Army Female Athlete: Evelyn Webster, Marcellus softball. Webster, a four-year standout for the Mustangs, announced in April that she would continue her softball career attending Fredonia State College.

Wegmans Winning Player: Jeff DeSarro, Frankfort-Schuyler football. DeSarro threw five touchdown passes, ranging from five to 37 yards, all of which helped the Maroon Knights pull away from Dolgeville 45-20 in the Section III Class D semifinals.
