AFLAC Amazing Athlete: Grace Dow, LaFayette girls basketball. Dow was an All-Central New York selection this season averaging nearly 20 points per game, plus 13 rebounds and six blocks per game.
Mirbeau Inn and Spa Megastar: Haley Michels, Canastota girls volleyball. An All-Central New York selection, Michels peaked by earning 13 kills in a Section III Class B quarterfinal win over South Jefferson in mid-February.
Sam’s Auto Body Sensational Athlete: Mykell Kaigler, Bishop Ludden boys basketball. Leading the Gaelic Knights to the Section III Class AA semifinals, Kaigler averaged 18.5 points and five rebounds per game.
Sport Center 481 Driving Force: Connor Boland, Liverpool ice hockey. Earning 33 goals and 10 assists, Boland carried the Warriors’ attack for most of the season and was an All-Central New York honoree.
Summitcars.com Coach of the Week: Gene Sundberg, Beaver River girls volleyball. Sundberg has won 626 games in his career and, going 17-1 this year, earned another Section III Class C championship.
Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists Student-Athlete: Mazar Jackson, Nottingham boys basketball. Jackson garnered All-Central New York honors by averaging 19.4 points per game in his junior season.
Upstate Medical University Magic Moment: Jadon Lee, Fulton ice hockey, breaking the school record for saves in a career as the Red Raiders goaltender earned first-team All-Division I honors.
U.S. Army Male Athlete: John Kennedy, Cooperstown boys basketball. Along with averaging 17 points and 14.6 rebounds a game this winter, Kennedy blocked 89 shots to set a single-season school record.
U.S. Army Female Athlete: Sydney Lusher, Oneida girls basketball. A first-team All-Central New York selection, Lusher averaged 18 points, eight rebounds and nearly six assists per game for the Indians.
Wegmans Winning Player: Emma Byrne, Tully girls volleyball. An All-Central New York choice this winter, Byrne accumulated 395 assists and 172 digs, to go with 66 aces and 35 kills.
